Great location, right on sea front, with parking at rear. Right in the heart of the town.Staff were superb, nothing too much trouble, very considerate. Breakfasts very good. Lovely atmosphere and feel to the place. Our family had rooms on 1st,2nd &3rd floors, all varied and 1st&2nd floor easy level access from lift, ideal for the older members of family. Rooms newly refurbished, light and airy, very comfortable beds, and quiet location with just sound of the waves.

The location of the hotel is 5 mins walk for the promenade at Sidmouth and the spectacular views of the sea and red cliffs to east and west of the town . The hotel is really quaint and traditional with lovely white exterior and Devon Gothic windows . The grounds are lovely too and well kept . The food in the restaurant is really good - Sunday night dinner is splendid with Sunday roast done to perfection . Breakfast is delicious with fresh cooked options - haddock and bubble and squeak on offer . Afternoon tea too and a well stocked bar - all staff helpful and friendly . What more could you want ?the Royal Glen is a real gem in Sidmouth .
Close to The Donkey Santuary. If you fancy a hike a trip down the coastal path to the seafront is nice. The uphill is a killer. It's 800 metres above sea level.
We found all the bungalows outdoors open plan. We had two little doggies visitors one morning that came in through our patio doors from another house. They were friendly but others might not have liked it. The owner seemed to live there and seamt to have no control over them at all as they took a blind bit of notice from her when she was calling them.
The house was lovely, clean and modern. My husband thought the overhead extractor too low and kept catching his head on it. For me at 5 ft 5 it didn't effect me and an excuse for my husband not to cook!
We found it very quiet at night and only could hear the donkeys when the window was open and not early or late at night.
The beds were comfy.
We found it a very quiet area but it didn't bother us as we went out everyday on an adventure. Visiting Torquay, Dawlish, Sandy Bay, Beer and Sidmouth.
We found The Boad Inn 5 min drive away amazing, the carvery was delish. Only £10.95 and £5.95 for under 11's.
All in all an amazing weeks stay and we already recommended it to a family member.
