Room was fairly modern (certainly no worse than a Premier Inn of which I have much experience).

Clean, quiet and relaxing. An incredibly comfortable bed, Southend doesn't have the greatest sea view in the world but our room with the sea view was still lovely,

I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead.
In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Going around visiting places. Eating out.
Going around visiting places. Eating out. Great taxi service. Hotel was not so good. Not disabled friendly. Fell in bathroom not built for anyone who is disabled.. Hurt myself quite bad. Screaming in agony. Apart from that. Will not be staying in this hotel again

Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!)
Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!) is actually really nice. We didn't expect much (we expected Morecambe, but got Southport!). There decent shops; the promenade was clean and open. We ate in The Last Post, but would certainly try other places when we visit again.
It is hard to give a fair representation of a town after a very brief visit, but it made a sufficiently good impression for us to want to see more, when the opportunity arises

We had a fantastic time but will never bist Toby carvery"s half way house again as staff were rude and couldn't deliver on an ice cream pudding and then charged us over our Groupon voucher people were leaving by the bucket load due to the apaulling service and badly trained staff a complaint to Toby carvery is in the process.
But other than that Southend on sea is a lovely place a great beach and super shopping centre and old Leigh had the best seafood I had tasted in a long time

We have stayed here a few times and it's always for the location and convenience. It's central, close to shops and the family rooms always overlook Adventure Island, which is often our main reason for being in the area.
The family rooms are large and spacious, have a king size bed and 2 x single beds.
The hotel also offers discounted day passes to Adventure Island which is well worth pre-booking and will save you money than buying directly from park.
The hotel has a lovely 1920's vibe with boutique furnishings in the seating and bar area. The room was amazing for what we had paid for it. The value, in this case, was outstanding. We enjoyed all the room's facilities. Beautiful suite.
The staff is polite and exceptional. The receptionist that day was particularly tentative to us and a great conversationalist, and also a young lady at the bar was the same. This made us feel welcomed.
This Hotel is so welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless & breakfast was delicious and hot. It is in a lovely quiet area but a short walk to Southend pier and all it offers. Bertie the owner is a really lovely friendly gentleman as are all his staff we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this establishment to stay in and will definitely be back thank you
Review is from Anne as well
Really lovely little apartment in a convenient location near central Southend. The beds are comfy and everything you need to set up a little home-away-from-home is provided. All five of us slept comfortably every night. In a nutshell, much better than paying for multiple hotel rooms!
The host, whose name is Zoya, is lovely. Thanks so much, Zoya! We’ll definitely stay here again!
Excellent location. I had the room I had seen online with seaview that I was hoping for. I had seen this hotel on my first visit to Southend on sea and had decided I would stay there one day!
Everything about my stay was excellent!
I especially liked the chain on the door! ( not had that before) , gave extra security and felt safe. Thanks!
It was a real home away from home. Ideal for what we wanted to do...rest and relax!
Quiet residential street with shops nearby and a short drive to the seafront.
Nice decor. Clean. Cozy small garden. Well stocked kitchen. Towels and toiletries provided. TV had lots of channels to enjoy. I liked how the property was presented!
A little gem of a hotel full of character and attention to detail, both in the bedrooms and communal areas. Excellent full English breakfast in beautiful room with nice views. All the staff were friendly and everything was very clean. Good location, walkable to the seafront and Southend Central station and other attractions.
Everything! The Hotel was fantastic: very clean, nice decor, exceptional location overlooking the Southend Pier and Amusement Park, but best of all was Debbie, the Manager. Fantastic, kind as could be, an excellent chef who prepared my complimentary full english breakfast for me daily.
Clean, quiet, comfortable. Staff at the hotel and the pub were all terrific, friendly and efficient. The Last Post faces Southend Central Station and is round the corner from the shops, you couldn't be more central. And then there's the Wetherspoons food available all day downstairs!
Everything, the staff are amazing and the property is superb value for money. Breakfast is one of the best I have ever had and I travel every week around the UK. This is one hotel I always rebook when in Southend on Sea.
Excellent little boutique hotel with very nice staff and a personal friendly service. Pretty good food too! Great quiet location with fabulous views of the ocean. Very comfy bed and cozy atmosphere.
Clean, welcoming, central location. Delicious full English breakfast in the morning. Public parking available nearby the property. Recommended for weekend and weekdays trip to Southend on sea.
Room clean and spacious, I would stay again.
Nice modern bathroom.
Very comfortable bed and friendly staff-would stay again.
Highly recommend this hotel.
