Returned to visit after many years absence.

Returned to visit after many years absence. Considerable changes but now firmly considered an expanding commuter town. Excellent rail and bus links to Glasgow/ Kilmarnock and places in between. Amenities are good. Plenty of take aways and small business catering facilities. Restaurants and public houses are few but suffice. Self catering is well taken care of with at least 2 good quality supermarkets available. Our favourite eating place was the excellent "Mill House", good service and quality food. Surrounded by green countryside, woodlands and riverside walks with plenty of dog friendly walking areas. Really good base area for this part of Ayrshire.

It's a nice to place to stay with access to train station...

It's a nice to place to stay with access to train station that could take you all over the country. There's some lovely places to get food from and plenty of places to buy from to make your own. There are a few lovely places to go for a drink and some cafes to go for lunch/coffee. T
