Stoke House Bed and Breakfast, hotel in Stoke Rivers

Situated in the rural, picturesque hamlet of Stoke Rivers, the Stoke House Bed and Breakfast has great views of the Devon countryside.

I loved the homely feel to the room. The views are amazing, location is great, not far from Barnstable. The hosts Robert and Nicky were very welcoming and I would definetely stay again if I visit North Devon again.

The Imperial Hotel, hotel in Stoke Rivers

The 4-star Imperial Hotel is located in the centre of Barnstaple, overlooking the River Taw.

Room was nice and clean. We had twin beds as we are family travelling together however there was no distance between the beds which made it a bit uncomfortable sleeping so close together.

It was a lovely period home.

It was a lovely period home. A bit away from the major sites but this was reflected in the cost. Clean and welcoming. Continental breakfast provided which was adequate but not outstanding. Was on a busy road so woke quite early.

Nice small bed and breakfast run by pleasant friendly couple Quiet location inland -but ideal for exploring North Devon coast Nice breakfast, but fairly limited options Plent of places to eat nearby -either in Barnstaple or country pubs -the B&B owner advised us of one good place to eat

This is a picturesque and idyllic part of Devon.

This is a picturesque and idyllic part of Devon. It's a pleasant location, surrounded by beautiful countryside with good views all round. The accommodation itself is just like being at home, very comfortable and cozy. The gentleman at reception was very welcoming despite our late arrival in the dark. The room was clean and comfortable, with a perfect ambient temperature when we got in. There is plenty of tea & coffee available with milk and biscuits! The shower was brilliant, great water pressure and temp, but can be a little slippery getting out. My favorite was the breakfast, full english along with toast, cereal and yogurt if you want it. All in all an enjoyable stay. Finally, I must mention the very helpful driving directions supplied by the owner when I booked; do read them, much better than relying on sat nav. One word of caution, do be prepared to drive extra carefully. The roads around this venue are very narrow with lots of twists and turns. Stoke Rivers is located way out in the countryside. But well worth the journey once you're there :-)

    Blissfully quiet. Lovely countryside.

Blissfully quiet. Lovely countryside. The weather was dreadful (as it was all over the country) so we didn’t see much of Stoke Rivers unfortunately. Would love to go back and investigate the local area in better weather.

Excellent value, never stayed in a better b&b.

Excellent value, never stayed in a better b&b. Robert and Nikki are always happy to recommend local walks. Last time we stayed they recommended a lovely local pub to eat. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we visit Barnstaple.

Stoke House is a model B&B, well appointed, spotlessly clean and freindly hosts. Breakfast was excellent, especially compared to the breakfast bars of budget hotels. Set in beautiful Devon countryside with good local pubs.
