My stay was everything I expected it to be, a true local inn with welcoming staff, comfortable bed and a simple continental breakfast that was just right. Food in the bar is exceptionally good and value for money.

No locks on doors and trying to plan timing so they know when you are arriving rather than have a relaxed day/journey and just turn up between say 5pm and 10pm, would prefer to go to a non-private hotel next time.

A delightful village, so peaceful and quiet and yet not far from Banbury. Go prepared with regard to supplies although there is a small shop in the village and such lovely friendly people and they seemed to have stock of most items. We took the recommended walk through the fields, got a little lost - something must have changed since the instructions were put together but you are out in the open and this is not a complaint, merely an observation.

This is good walking country if you don't mind a bit of mud at this time of year . The village is full of nice stone built cottages , has a lovely church, and a Norman Castle Mount which I think is looked after by English Heritage . There are more similar villages within a short distance . The Star pub is homely & serves a good Sunday lunch . It's closed on Mondays .

Sulgrave is a wonderful village near the North Oxford / Northampton border. Close to larger towns like Brackley and Banbury where you can do shopping etc, but then relax in a nice quiet village later. Sulgrave has several historic buildings including Sulgrave Manor, the historical home of George Washington, a lovely Old Church and information point on an older Saxon Settlement. Also a nice pub and village shop for the essentials.

The area is good for walkers and there are various pubs close by . There is also a useful village shop . The countryside is largely unspoilt & you're able to get to Banbury or Brackley for the bigger shops .
