The Street Head Inn, hotel in West Burton

Located in West Burton, 40 km from Lightwater Valley Theme Park, The Street Head Inn provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Wonderful stay, staff very friendly and welcoming. Fantastic views from my bedroom window with clean and comfortable facilities. I used the restaurant both nights I stayed and the food was excellent and well presented which was matched equally with the comprehensive and very tasty full English breakfast both morning which was served with a smile and warm welcome. The bar served a very good range of products including a very well kept 'Landlord' bitter. Great original country pub with a roaring log fire to warm the evening even better.

The Foresters Arms, hotel in West Burton

Situated within the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Foresters Arms is a Grade II listed property nestled under the peaks of Roova Crags and Penhill.

Friendly, welcoming tenants (a cheerful, helpful couple) and regulars. Lovely warm (from wood fire) bar with all ales well kept, music not too loud. Food, both evening meals and full English breakfast for me, vegetarian for my wife, was very well cooked, tasty and generous quantities. Bedroom very nice, comfortable and clean.

    A very nice dales village.

A very nice dales village. Seemingly most of the houses are now holiday lets. But that is the fault of people like you and I who book to stay in them. The village has a pub, a general store that sells newspapers and all manner of necessities. There’s a play park on the green, a waterfall just off the green. The area around West Burton is good for walking. Other villages are within easy reach for a change of scenery. Leyburn and Hawes are not far away for bigger shops

    The area was beautiful.

The area was beautiful. It was in easy reach of Hawes and Leyburn which is why we chose it. The Ɓreakfast at the pub was good, however we didn't realise our room was not in the pub but in another building which had some outside steps to get to it. The room was pleasant, but the duvet was to small for the bed. The radiator was not working properly, so we had to use a little heater which wasn't very good to warm the room.

I have stayed here several times and enjoyed it every time. Set in beautiful Bishopdale it is a comfortable, freindly place. The staff are all very polite, the chef often shows up in the dining room for a chat, and the bar usually has some locals in creating a great atmosphere. Perfectly located for exploring Wensleydale and upper Wharfedale. I would highly recommend Street Head Inn.

A converted mill in a quiet location that is close to beautiful landmarks and villages. The accommodation is clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The only downside is that the steps leading up to the front door are steep and slippery after rain. We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed staying at the mill.

Out of the way in beautiful countryside, the clientèle and staff at streethead inn are a pleasure both friendly and helpful. The restaurant service and food are excellent, reasonably priced for portion size. Take a trip through Coverdale and circuitous route to Tan Hill, stunning.

The Yorkshire Dales are lovely, but west Burton was too quiet for me ,it is a very pretty location but i felt a bit cut off, Leyburn a small town 8 or so miles away would make a better location as their is more to do and can be used as a spring board for travel to bigger towns while still being in the national park.
