This was a very scenic rural hotel in Wigton. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We arrived very early in the morning and they still made sure someone was there to check us in. And they allowed us a late check out as we had arrived late. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.

Nice hotel, room was decent size but the bed wasn't comfortable (made some awful noises when turning over). Evening meal and breakfast was average pub grub. Very expensive for what we got. It was missing the little details.
Cleanliness, Friendliness, Helpfulness. Cheerful staff, delicious food, well stocked bar and comfortable bar area and dining room.
Local area fascinating lots of places to eat and drink if you fancy a change from the hotel,
Lots of things to see and do within a short drivig distance.

Positives: Really loved the staff, food & location.
Positives: Really loved the staff, food & location. Beds were comfy too.
We found the room decor in family suite really worn, didn’t feel comfortable that there was no window lock as big drop right next to kids’ beds. Thankfully they didn’t notice the window as I kept curtain drawn and all ok.
Also odd smell in corridor outside our room but it didn’t go in room. Overall though I would stay again. Really really friendly & accomodating, lovely atmosphere gorgeous location. was delicious too.
Wheyrigg far exceeded our expectations, the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed in the family suite which which had comfortable beds and all the facilities we needed, in a quiet part of the hotel. The staff were beyond exceptional. So friendly and accommodating, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. Breakfast was great with a good range of hot and cold options and very quick service. The price was fair considering we’re in the year of the post-covid staycations.
We were on Hadrian's Cycleway and Wheyrigg Hall Hotel is only a couple of miles off the route - there's not much choice once you've left Silloth. . The staff were very helpful and there is an outhouse used as secure cycle storage overnight. The restaurant only has a small menu, but everyone in our party really enjoyed their evening meal. Breakfast was good too.
It's a great quiet country location, plenty of parking, and a friendly characterful family run pub-hotel-restaurant. This is the 3rd year we have stayed here whilst touring. We ate in for supper & breakfast and the food was good and plenty of it. The room was fine. We'll be back next year if we come this way again!
This is a really super little friendly family hotel. We all loved the dinner and amazing, tasty breakfasts and really lovely staff. Such a little gem of a place for a stop off up north and perfect for larger families. The beds were very comfortable and the room was lovely and clean.
Very nice hotel which is spotlessly clean in all
areas. The rooms are well appointed with
everything you need. Couple the above with the
lovely and friendly staff and a fabulous piping hot
breakfast and you can’t go wrong.
I would describe the hotel as old fashioned, but with plenty of space, great staff and good food for our evening meal. Reasonable price for what it was and breakfast was included.
This was our second stay at the Wheyrigg. We like the relaxed feel of this property. Lovely room, lovely food and good value for money. 🙂 Helen and all her staff are wonderful. Xx
Great breakfast and staff very helpful with food choices for allergies. All staff very welcoming and hotel spotlessly clean throughout, good sized room
