We only had a very short visit 5.30pm Sat - 7.15am Sun, so didn't visit the area surrounding the inn. Location was ideal for us to visit an antiques fair early morning. Breakfast was provided at 6.45am even though the restaurant didn't open until 9am. We had a meal at the bar Sat evening, which was good. Staff were very friendly. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water and the room was warm.

Nice bathroom, breakfast brilliant as was the evening meal. Very friendly staff. Our room on the road / junction was very noisy. The mattress had broken springs, but we reported it and we expect it will be replaced. We would stay again but in a different room. We had the smallest twin room as that was all that was left available when we booked.

Spent several visits to the Castle Ruins opposite taking in the history of life though the ages and, relics recovered from the moat and on display. Joined the Society membership available in the Castle shop. Brochure with full history available at £4.50, also in shop. Pop just down the road to lovely Ellesmere, visit the ICE CREAM Parlour supporting local charities within the tow. Lovely walks and scenery.
