I love this hotel. Second time staying here and it’s so incredibly beautiful. The grounds are just stunning and full of nature. The staff are fantastic too and couldn’t do enough for us. We were in one of the ground floor rooms with a patio and it was huge and luxurious. Very clean and well appointed.

Hospitality at its best. Loved this cosy luxury country house hotel. Stayed one night with husband and 2 year old son. This hotel might not be the first hotel a family with a young child would consider but the staff had thought of everything. There was a changing mat, nappy bin and even a little bathrobe for our toddler. They helped me organise a babysitter so that we were able to dine at their amazing restaurant the Fernery. Think The Pig and I'enclume and add a bit of warmth. We loved everything about this hotel. Big fireplaces, large comfy sofas and lovely, uniquely decorated rooms. Staff were all lovely and friendly, especially the staff at the Fernery.

I arrived very late on a very delayed ferry from Ireland. Not a problem. The helpful nightporter was on hand to get me settled.

The most fabulous location and views. Near the canaston woods for dog walks. Loved the doggy towel and biscuits left on the dog bed for my dog - lovely detail. Despite being a dog friendly room ypu would never know it was spotless! Breakfast selection was good and poached eggs to perfection.

Beautiful surroundings with great views and walks. A lovely comfortable room with all the necessary conveniences.
No lifts available so my mother had a problem with the stairs.
Had to book a time for breakfast as there was limited space however the food and staff there were excellent.
Would recommend as a quirky comfortable hotel.

Views from our room window were beautiful, as was the setting and various walks around the grounds. It was peaceful. A delight!
The room was nothing more than what I would expect for the price, the bed was comfy, it was warm and clean. The large jacuzzi bath was a huge hit. A fridge/chiller would be a great improvement.
The level of staffing really let the place down. I felt for the one member of staff who was dealing with reception, the bar & locking up. Reception on occasion was unmanned. Guests were complaining mainly about the lack of communication regarding the reduced hours of the bar and reduced opening days of the restaurant (I must add we were sent an email advising us).
One couple cancelled their second night to rebook else where and failed to receive their breakfast that morning.

The hospitality was perfect.
The hospitality was perfect. We were lucky with the weather was perfect so we enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace. We had our puppy with us so that was a perfect solution. Dogs are very welcome here. A splendid short stay

This place is in the middle of nowhere.
This place is in the middle of nowhere. It’s a daunting drive into the place. The building is rundown and looks like a mental hospital or a old jail. The place is not pretty at all. The staff were not very friendly. If u have a android device it won’t work Apple struggled. There is nowhere to go or walk. It has a weird sad feeling all around. I felt trapped the walls are thin. The food is nothing speshial over priced. The bar has 6 seats if that. It shuts at 9. All staff go home and ur left to it.
The room wasn’t nothing really and wasn’t what we expected. The crowd from rooms are boring and didn’t want to look out after 9 it made me feel uncomfortable. The bed was massive and comfortable I will say that. I wouldnt go back if it was free not even for a hour. Boring odd feeling sad ugly place with nothing to offers tall I Felt like a prisoner. It’s not award winning. I sat awake as I couldn’t wait for day light. U can take a walk around the grave yard or the estuary of sincking sand. My advice don’t bother.

I have lots of food intolerances, gluten, lactose, fructose and nuts. The Chef adjusted the menu and I had excellent meals. Probably the best meals out since I was diagnosed 2 years ago. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are well equipped and comfy and the walks and bird song around the hotel the best.

We were quite happy with what we had paid, would not put anybody off staying here, the walks around are wonderful, the walled (working) garden area is beautiful and being a "bird enthusiast" I was in heaven with reed warblers just in front of us, curlews calling and more thrushes and all the other birds in one area that I have seen in ages.... lovely place we will go back to again.
The bedroom and bed provided great comfort. We arrived late form the ferry, the venue is deep into the country estate and more / better signage would have greatly assisted in getting to the hotel with less stress as the park is a proper dark sky area.
although the hotel was operating on a B&B basis, we were informed well in advance and they provided a list of restaurants and take away places that were local.
Breakfast was very good
The location of the hotel is very good
Location is stunningly beautiful, a real gem. Hotel does needs a little tlc in areas. The staff however were all so polite, friendly and helpful. So quiet could not hear a car only wildlife.
The most stunning setting. Garden and grounds so beautiful. Rooms quirky but done up to high spec and very comfortable. ‘Boutique’ hotel feel and a peaceful and special place to stay.
What an incredible hotel. Absolutely stunning, like we were in a movie. Very comfortable, and lovely friendly staff. Brilliant and would recommend highly
Very little likeable for £195 per night. The location continues to be beautiful, quiet and isolated, that is a given. The hotel was bad in every respect.
