Wotter is a village near Shaugh Prior on the south western edge of Dartmoor, in the English county of Devon. Wotter has a hotel (The Moorland Hotel), a GP surgery, chapel and hall, and play area. The church hall houses a part-time Post Office service, which began operating there a few months after the village's post office closed in 2004. It is also used for Shaugh Prior Parish Council meetings. The chapel was founded as a Methodist church in 1939, sharing a minister with two other villages. After the church closed, it was bought by a Christian family and reopened as Wotter Community Chapel.anaUnited Kingdom

The views from the bedrooms are fabulous, right across the valley to Plymouth Sound. As the hotel is right on the moor it is ideal for walkers and cyclist as well as visiting Plymouth, South Devon and Dartmoor. The beds were very comfy and the shower hot. The food is good and breakfast was well organised so you don’t have to spend too long in the restaurant if you don’t want too, also a take away option.

I also got a free upgrade on my room, which was great! The food is fantastic and the presentation of the food, made it look too good to eat. Cooked fresh and tasted wonderful. Good old fashioned excellent customer service is also offered, which you do not see often enough anymore. I will be staying there again on my next business trip to Derriford hospital
