Solo traveler here. I was doing some writing on Amorgos and I had a wonderful time at the Hotel Minoa. The hotel staff were all really friendly and genuine. Full of character and the restaurant next door was brilliant too. One of the most memorable hotels I’ve stayed in Greece (I’ve stayed in a lot)

The feeling of being in the peaceful countryside but only an easy 10 minutes walk from the centre with shops and restaurants. Large terrace/ balcony with wide country/ hill views. Gorgeous floor tiles throughout and palest creamy-pink walls so much better than stark white.
Only 100 metres from Katapola Port, Anna Studios offers charming, Cycladic-style studios with kitchenettes and free WiFi. Guests enjoy sea views from their rooms, or from the 4,000 m² garden.

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good restaurants, rental properties and cars available. An unexpected extra was live music in a garden setting just steps from our lodging on the hillside above the port. Recommend renting a car and seeing other parts of Amorgos as well. I have been to the island twice and would go again!

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of restaurants around the picturesque harbour. We visited at the end of May when it wasn't busy and the island's landscape was greener and dotted with colourful wild flowers - an ideal time for walkers.

Nice atmosphere at night, lots of bars and restaurants, and yet a quieter atmosphere compared to other busy Islands. I enjoyed having dinner at Youkali, in Katapola, and the stunning landscape of the island.
Location is very well connected by bus with other places of the island, however, in the late afternoon you might need to take a taxi. Convenient as we arrived by boat from Naxos and wanted to drop off luggages, get a shower and go out to explore the island. Don’t miss the monastery with the view over the grand blue beach, the village of Chora and walking around in Aegiali. You can also do some hiking between traditional villages.

It is just a beautiful little place with good snorkelling near a tiny church on a headland near Meltezi beach. We ate at a number of tavernas but the best was "The Corner" run by Nikos and his wife Olga. The food is superb! I don't know how he manages to maintain such a diverse menu of mostly traditional Greek dishes. It's easy to get around either by bus or hired car or motorbike. There is absolutely nothing we would avoid if we went there again, which we most certainly will do!

The place is beautiful and peaceful.
The place is beautiful and peaceful. The restaurants are great, especially Youkali and Anemi. And there is a bookshop in town and that´s really something! Next time though in Katápola I would find me a better hotel.
The hotel owner Ioanna made a warm wellcome to us.The towels change daily. The breakfast that is served at reception area is enough and has homemade sweets. Also reception area shares same place with Pothy’s sweet that has wonderfull sweets especially Portakolapita. The hotel is in a good location near port. There is public parking area near the hotel. With Ioanna’s advices you can organize your holiday in Amorgos easily. If you want to do peacefull and relaxing holiday, then Minoa hotel must be your first choice..
1. Location - just steps from port and surrounded by cafes. Was shown to sister Hotel Minoa which was closer to these convenience and on the level but still chose Landeris despite stairs as it is quieter and boasts big rooftop verandah with clear view of harbour.
2. Staff - most friendly n helpful and just simply nice. Realised belatedly was charged the same even though I changed from a double room to an apartment. Appreciate the kind n warm welcome of owner.
3. Good water pressure n well appointed space.
The room was spatious, clean and very comfortable. The highlight was the big balcony with a magnificent view over the bay of Katapola. It takes a little bit of work to get up to the apartment, especially with the heavy piece of luggage we had. Something to consider in advance.
Antonis is a very helpful and generous host. He accommodated us with everything we needed and even brought us big pieces of delicious cake every day.
This hotel did not disappoint. The setting is beautiful, and we were upgraded from the room we booked so had a stunning view from our balcony. Everyone working there was friendly and kind, with lovely touches like showing us the shortcut back to the port during the transfer, little extras in the room and great touristy information available. Absolutely recommend for a little luxury during your trip to Amorgos.
Giannis did everything to make us feel like we were visiting a friend. We were warmly welcomed (thanks again for the welcome and farewell gifts <3) and provided amazing suggestions and tips about the island. He was right as we found something special about Amorgos. We will definitely come back again and stay at Giannis'. Thanks again for your kindness and benevolence !
The house was lovely and located in a perfect position, just 5 minutes with the scooter to Katapola and 15 minutes from Chora. The host was also very nice and gave us amazing recommendations about what beaches to go to! Definitely recommend and will go back whenever we will end up in Amorgos! The sunset from our balcony was the best view of our entire trip!!
Once we arrived, host moved us to a different hotel without port view. But it was close within 5 minutes and the new place had a cute garden. Room large enough and clean with small kitchenette. Bed was not very comfortable, but manageable for a night or two. AC worked. Overall would stay again for the price and location.
Our room has the perfect view to the port of Katapola with a huge balcony. Our host was the nicest, super friendly and helpful. Room was extremely clean, even the floors of the balcony. We could just spend our time on Amorgos without leaving Katapola. So peaceful and lovely.
Wonderful quiet hotel in the harbor of Katapola. Nice, spacious rooms, some of them with balconies to the seaside. Excellent breakfast with home-made pastries, fruit salad, Greek yogurt and more. The owners are very friendly and made me feel welcome.
The owner waited until the boat came to Amorgos, which was at 3.30 on a late November morning and I appreciated that very much. The flat was very big and being walking distance from everything in Katapola makes it a great spot to stay.
The location, the room, the garden, everything was up to our expectations. It is close to pier and restaurants, and Katapola is a very nice village and so is all the island of Amorgos. Great value for money. Would come again.
The location of the Hotel is great, the room was also lovely. Giannis is also a great host with lots of recommendations on what to do and how to get around Amorgos, he made us feel very welcome in the Island.
Our room was very comfortable with a nice view of the bay. The host picked us up at the ferry and told us about the things to do on the island. Would definitely stay there again if I came back to Amorgos.
The room was fantastic, clean with the best view of Katapola! Great, accomodating hosts, we also rented a car from them for a very good price. I would definitelly rebook when we visit Amorgos again!
The staff were lovely - came to meet us off the boat. The view is amazing. Katapola was our favourite town on the island. We had a cleaner come nearly every day as well.
