Exceptional scenery. Amazing view on the port especially with the large balcony. Room was cleaned every day thoroughly (compared to other hotels I’ve been).
Just 50 metres from Martinakia Beach, the traditionally-built Kontseta, in Merichas Village, offers self-catering units with free Wi-Fi and views over the Aegean Sea.

The location was very good, very close to the port town. We visited the island during low season so it was good to be near the open taverna, bakery and supermarkets. The host was very communicative and kind. We left one day earlier than expected and the host agreed to wash our laundry free of charge. The bed is very comfortable.

We hired a car to tour the island and it was lovely, a typical Cyclades island. There were enough tourists to get the right atmosphere without being mobbed. There a plentiful supply of fresh fish which we enjoyed.

There is a wonderful array of tavernas and cafes specialising in local fish and produce. All of them are excellent and the hospitality is above perfect. We were always offered complimentary treats to try as the local people wanted to share their wonderful island with us.
We rented a small motorbike for 2 days and ride around the whole island stopping at Agios Stefanos for octopus and Agios Dimitrios for a swim.
Walking overland to Kolona was a walk worth taking. It is very beautiful.
The people of Chora, the capital were very friendly and warm-hearted. This is a relatively ‘quiet’ island that attracts mainly Greek holiday makers. It is not overrun with shops and tourists. It is perfect and we’ll be back.
