Very good beaches in that area.
The pool is big, and even though not very clear, it doesn’t smell with chlorine, which is better than clearness of the water. For example down in the other hotel below on the hill, there is a pool which smells like sh*t and bad for your eyes, but with clear water.
There was not many neighbors (around 5 houses occupied max, I think 20-30%), so that was also a plus. Not sure how it’s there when there are many people near the pool.
The villa has 3 levels, but there is no reason for the third floor. You’d better lay next to the pool. There are only sun beds. I thought to buy and put a grill/barbecue there, but did not find any smaller and cheaper one.
The kitchen and the hall are on the second floor, strange.

This was a very local accommodation with two toilets. It was very comfortable, although the balcony was not connected to the flat. It was outside and around to some steps. Nonetheless, the host was very kind and showed us everything that we needed.

Absolutely unique experience and one of its kind. Residence is in desolated place, in true traditional houses with minimalistic electricity. However, don't be fooled - everything you need is provided by wonderful, helpful host. Even if you need to break your vows and recharge your phone - there is a possibility.
PS. The mattress is very comfortable.

We very much liked the warm welcome and friendliness of the owner. Great care and thoughtfulness had been taken over all the welcoming little gifts and goodies. Lovely position overlooking the sea. Very near, walking distance, to a good beach and taverna.

we stayed as a family with a toddler and baby in Lemonia, the ground flour villa with private jacuzzi, garden, lemon tree, 3 spacious chambers, 2 bathrooms and a lovely kitchen with dishwasher. How much we enjoyed the private outside area, such a relaxing space! The environment is a pure gift; walk 5 steps outside and you’ll meet a beautiful sea, cosy restaurants and bars, but all not crowdy, and awing (my senses could not stop enjoying the cooling breeze, the clear water, the calming waves and the warm sand… such a gift! last but not least; the Cretan people; before I knew it; I was hugging locals, and how lovely the were for my kids, incredible! The South-east Cretans are golden. more golden than any Chrissy Island beach. Special kudos to Romeo, managing Lemonia residents, Greek though in love with Italy and Russia, he showed us the warmest heart, was ready any minute to support, help or just have a laugh.. This is a very good accommodation in the center of Makry Gialos. We were given instructions how to enter, it was easy. Inside everything is perfect, well-arranged, clean, every necessary thing is there. The sea, a supermarket, cafes and eateries are 100 m away or less. Heartily recommended both for short stays or for vacations.
