Our favourite place in Greece.
Incredible hospitality. We felt like we were at home. Our stay was so relaxing and enjoyable. Sitting at the fire at night, appreciating the delicious home cooked food and hiking during the day. Location was stunning. Loved the pet animals. Would love to go back again one day

Hospitality:) The hosts were very kind. They recommended us a local tavern with real food and real Greeks:) We didn't have enough time to explore the surroundings which are probably wonderful, but we'll leave that for next time.
Extremely beautiful museum but expensive! Nice little village with many tourist shops and taverns. The archeological site is disappointing. We thought we needed a ful day to visit but actually you can do it in about two hours. If possible you could combine it with a visit to Veroia which has many things to offer and you could easily spend the rest of the day there. I would suggest: visit Vergina museum in the morning, have a lunch there and go to Veroia.

Amazing to share the same ground with Philip ll (his tomb) & walk in the footsteps of Alexander The Great.
A different kind of museum constructed to make you feel as though you are in a tomb - in fact, I believe it is built directly over the original location. Then there's the spectacular display of the contents...
The city site itself containing the palace was closed at the time of my visit
Don't forget to visit Pella with it's very excellent new museum!

Nice little village with beautiful hills and so much ancient things to see. The museum and the tomb of Phillip II. is worth a view! Even if some people say that 12€ is too much - it is worth it. You see the tombs and so much exhibits.
The ancient palace ruins are nearby - you can drive by car until the parking lot and after that you have to walk. Or - just like me - walk the whole way. It is around 1km from the center of Vergina up the hills. They are working there at the moment, so the palace is open for public from 10am - 2pm.
The town Veria is around 11km away and easy to reach with car. The public transport is... yeah. Optional. :D I waited for the bus that was called for 12am and at least it came at 12:30. The day before there was no bus at all at this time. You have to be very patient and the "german accuracy" will kill your joy.
The restaurants are wonderful as well. I had the luck to find a nice spot where I came back for at least four days every evening.

The tombs of Philip are spectaculars but do not visit the place without deep understanding of antique funeral rituals same as the construction of tombs in various periods of antiquity, otherwise is a lost of time.

Village on the site of Aigai the original capital of the Greek Macedonians. Few restaurants worth mentioning with the exception of a wonderful traditional Taverna in the old center. The reason to visit is clearly the incredible museum of the royal Macedonian tombs underground the massive tumulus. The exhibition of King Philip the 2nd, Alexander the Great’s father, and other tombs was breathtaking. A must see in Northern Greece...

Finding the archaeological sites was a challenge, so be sure to ask at your hotel for advice (or at one of the restaurants if you stop for a bite.) However, they have done an amazing job here and would recommend for anyone travelling to Greece.
The pension is in this tiny village in walking distance from an amazing archeological site.
The room were big. The furniture was nice and the room hade a very nice fireplace. Beds were comfortable.
The staff was amazing trying to support us in each step of our stay.
The staff prepared us a very nice breakfast for a very modest price.
Vergina is not a place where I would stay more than 1/2 nights. But it is definetely a great stop over if you are visiting the wider area.
The hotel is very clean, big rooms. But overall the people working there was great, willing to help in anything you need. I had an experience that shows how kind and helpful are : I forgot the keys of an apartment in Veria and they came to the city, 12 km away from Vergina to bring them . But not only this, I forgot the passport too and she came again to Veria. So my experience was probably the best I had in a hotel. Thank you very much 🏩
We enjoyed our stay in this comfy guest house very close to the archaeological sites of Vergina. We were there to see the history, and the hotel's location was perfect. We parked right outside our room. Our room was clean and modern, and the bathroom had a great shower. We opted for breakfast one morning and were able to order exactly what we wanted. Delicious! Would highly recommend!
This small family-run hotel is located in Vergina, very near to the archeological sites, almost in the city center and near to the restaurants. The hotel is very nice, it was very clean and the owners were very kind and helpful. The garden is beautiful and the view from the room was very nice to the surrounding green hills. It was very silent. We stayed only 2 nights unfortunately.
Angelika is such an enjoyable hostess and her hotel is beautiful. Our stay with her was perfect in every way, and is now a fond memory. Our room was very spacious, nicely appointed, and overlooked a pretty garden. She served us breakfast on the patio and sent us away with a kind farewell. You will enjoy your stay with her!
Breakfast was excellent, the owner really went out of her way to give us a very copious and tasty breakfast (extra charge). The location to the Vergina site was perfect, we walked. There were a few nice tavernas for dinner and coffee/pizza places for the evening to eat within a few minutes walking from the hotel.
We loved the big comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms, huge showers with high water pressure, amazing view, dinner and breakfast under the vines, friendly staff, and the proximity to the excellent Aigai museum in Vergina. The wine was great too. The connecting family rooms are very nice and convenient.
very good localization - close to Museum in Wergina, very friendly and helpful owner speaking fluent English (what is not so common in Greece), own parking place just in front of hotel. Clean and big room, good price to quality ratio.
The location the view and the comfort was exceptional. The hotel is run as a family business the decor is beautiful. The owners make you feel at home with there care and attention. Definitely we will return .
Very nice owners who did their very best to make our stay enjoyable. The room was basic but cleean and had comfortable beds. We were even offered choice of rooms as the hotel was not busy.
Although we arrived late, the owner waited up for us and provided very kind service and support. Location is very conveniently close to the Vergina archeological site. Thanks!!
Lovely landscapes. Nice and cozy rooms, with enough space and everything we needed. The bed was very confortable. There is also a small and very nice restaurant at the hotel.
