The Woodfield Hotel, hotel in Ballyconneely

Situated in Clifden and with Alcock & Brown Memorial reachable within 5.1 km, The Woodfield Hotel features express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a bar.

Our room was on the top floor up a few flights of stairs which had been very recently carpeted. Overlooking the road outside, the room was clean and spacious with a large bathroom, though the windows are very low to the ground so closing the blinds to get changed was essential! The bed was comfortable and we got a good nights' sleep despite a bit of noise at kicking out time from the bar across the road. The location is in the heart of Clifden, right in the middle of the town and so some traffic noise is to be expected, but overnight the road seemed very quiet. The pub below was very nice and had a decent outside terrace at the back overlooking the estuary. Breakfast was excellent. Whilst not a cheap option, the location was great if wanting to stay in the heart of Clifden.

Very nice area, remote and tranquil, perfect to disconnect from the urban hum. A variety of beaches with short distance. Also perfect for stargazing, It has one of the darkest, free of light pollution skies in Ireland, Bortle 2!

For me what makes Kilronan special was the location to Keogh's and it's superb seafood on your doorstep ! Also the house itself looked at on a beautiful lake and each room was full of light. Sands hotel and the coral beaches are very close , both prime spots to go in the area. Lastly the host really wants feedback and acts upon your suggestions so as to make it an even better house for the next guest .

Located right on the main road between Roundstone and Ballyconneely, this lovely cottage is a great base for exploring Connemara. The house is modern, clean and well maintained. We stayed in winter and it was warm, dry and cosy. It could easily accommodate larger families or groups. It’s a ten minute walk to the nearest town (Ballyconneely) but in a car everything is easily accessible.
