Very nice restored hotel with a lot of charm, very friendly staff and good service, good breakfast and excellent restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, great view from the terrace and certain rooms.
Be aware that you're remote on a hill above Varese, but that's what makes this place special. Nice surrounding area with a lot of possibilities for hiking, etc..
Visiting Varese and traveling by train and bus/cable car is possible and quite easy, even with luggage (hotel helps with timetables).

Stunning views. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had issues with our hire car and received loads of assistance. Especially from Christina who even drove us to the car and arranged taxis.

Picturesque old village, very safe and quiet, the climate is milder than in the valley. Only one restaurant, so if it is closed you got to drive somewhere else. Streets are slopy, so you always climb up or go down. The area is good for tracking, jogging and biking.
