Bellagio was by far the best village/town to stay in on Lake Como. Shopping, restaurants, bars, cafes were excellent. The streets were fantastic, and very photographic. Ferries were easy to catch to other parts of the lake. Sitting outside the Sports cafe bar near the church as a daily ritual to sip caffe or a Aperol Spritz.

Bellagio has the perfect location in Lake Como in order to visit other places around the lake. It is very picturesque and unique. It is much better than Como to stay during your trip since it's not a big town but rather a very beautiful village. The only problem is the road leading there, which is rather narrow, but this is the case for the whole of Lake Como. The alternative is moving around by boat.

The restaurants and bars and narrow lanes were great.
The restaurants and bars and narrow lanes were great. The lanes are mostly steep climbs so be fit or stop in a bar half way! Just out of town is the Alle Darsene di Loppia, very good restaurant.
Cars are generally excluded from the town centre so if you have your own car you need to make sure you can get to your accommodation. And if you have a car you need to be bold when driving, because the local Italians can fit a car through a tiny gap, at high speed, and you must do the same to get anywhere. Trust them and enjoy the ride!
The ferry trips around Lake Como were great - you can explore a lot of beautiful old towns from the ferry.

We loved Bellagio!
We loved Bellagio! we also spent a day in Varenna (via ferry) - quieter, but just as charming. Take the tour of the Melza Villa there (the interior plus gardens). Note that for all of the Villa tours, all accessible by public ferry, order your tickets well in advance because day of they will all be sold out. Bellagio and Varenna are similar in that both are built into the side of an Alp, and the "cross streets" all require navigating a hundred or more stairs. Folks who live there don't seem to notice, but in the hot sun we were sure stopping every ten stairs to rest. We just randomly picked "cute" restaurants and enjoyed every one.

Bellagio has beautiful eateries, easy to get to other towns by ferry, gorgeous part of Lake Como. Plenty to do...
Be prepared for expensive eateries, drinks, gifts, trinkets. The business owners are really upping the prices on everything including bottled water....
The staff was great! I had a few questions for them prior to our visit and they were very quick to reply. We had to check out very early and they arranged a taxi for us and put together a breakfast bag for us filled with fruit, juices, sandwiches, and spreads to enjoy since we would miss the breakfast the hotel provides. The hotel breakfast is so good! after having only a coffee and pastry for most of our time in Italy, we really missed having more and this really hit the spot! Our views were also INCREDIBLE! It was probably our favorite part.
What a great place to stay at Lake Como! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake, and couldn't have been happier. Everything was wonderful...clean and comfortable facilities, delicious food, friendly and professional staff, a shuttle for rides to/from Bellagio Old Town (although the walk down the hill is easy and entertaining), and the building has some fun history to it...there wasn't anything not to like. We hope to visit Bellagio again, and if we do, we are definitely staying here!
The location is out of this world. Absolutely fantastic if you’re wanting to explore Bellagio. It is in the perfect spot, right on the lake with view for days! Bellagio, is in my opinion, the best place to be in Lake Como. Hotel Florence is always buzzing with people outside and quiet and calm inside.
The breakfast included is great; juices, freshly made hot drinks, fruit, cakes, meats and cheeses along with boil your own eggs and help yourself to cereals.
This accommodation is amazing!! from amazing restaurant to amazing staff. the view from the room facing the lake had amazing views. Location is perfect. Had free parking right in-front of hotel which made it very easy to access. The staff was amazing and extremely friendly. the view in the restaurant is amazing!!! and good even more amazing. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Bellagio is definitely one of my favorite places in Italy.
Excellent hotel in a beautiful location with spectacular view from balcony and room. Large refreshing pool with equally stunning views and good seating area. The room is spacious and the bathroom contains a large bath, which is very relaxing. The included breakfast was extensive and the breakfast area outside also had great views on Lake Como. Staff was friendly and helpful and the shuttle to Bellagio was well organized.
Perfect location with stunning view from the balcony. Parking is very near the apartment if you arrive by car. Clean, spacious, and secure. Netflix and wifi worked well. Kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of towels and bathroom toiletries. Bellagio is worth the visit and is a good base for the other sites to see in this part of Lake Como.
The property was in an excellent location and was easily accessible within the ZTL. The room was perfect with fantastic views of Lake Como and the surrounding area. The staff was exceptional and I would have to say the best that I have experienced in 5 years of traveling in Europe! Will definitely stay here on our next visit!
This accommodation was incredible as was the host! The apartment was super clean and had unbelievable views. Bellagio was just a short 25 minute walk away with access to the whole lake by regular ferry's
Our host was great and brilliant at communicating with us. Would be my first choice when I come back to Lake Como.
This was the most amazing property to stay in. Extraordinarily serene, peaceful and beautiful by such a quiet part of Lake Como.
The local walking through the hamlets as well as the longer hikes into the hills above Bellagio will long be remembered. We did not want to leave Pescalo Apartments-simply Paradise!
Without doubt the best place I have stayed in Lake Como and even Italy. The photographs do not do the place justice. It is a life affirming experience, a few minutes from everything you could ever need. I can honestly say it changed the way I see the world. It made me a better man. Just. Go.
Beautiful family hotel, with big and clean rooms, excellent breakfast, very quiet, with some useful facilities like air conditioner, tv, mini bar and parking. People who work in the hotel are nice and kind. The hotel is located in Bellagio, one of the most beautiful villages of lake Como.
Casa Carolina was expectacular! Location, Price, Clean, Comfortable & Cosy with great views of mountains and Lake Como. This place made us feel right at home for three days, the drive to Main Bellagio was a 5 -10 min drive.
I definitely would stay here again.
Location was stunning! Couldn't be better for our first visit to Lake Como. Staff was helpful. Lots of lovely touches, little gifts in the room. AMAZING breakfast buffet. I would return to this hotel again if we return for another visit to the region.
What a beautiful little apartment in a great location! only 2 minute walk from the ‘secret beach’ at lake como and a 15 min walk to bellagio. Carlos was fantastic and helped us plan our days/journey as well as answer all our questions!
Casa Ketty is a beautiful gem of a place with amazing views of Lake Como and super comfortable accommodations. Angela was so welcoming and checked in to make sure we were settled. We highly recommend this property.
The property is perched high on a hill which makes for the most stunning views over Bellagio / Lake Como. Breakfast every day was perfect with a wide array of fresh goodies from the farm and freshly baked tarts.
The view was incredible. The property manager, Arianna, was lovely and supportive when we had a challenge getting to Bellagio from Lake Como. Breakfast fare was simple, great local produce and tasty.
The hotel location is great to stay in Bellagio & visit the lake Como. The staff is really nice and helpful ! The room itself is also really nice with modern design. The breakfast is great
The location was absolutely stunning and perfect for exploring not just Bellagio but the entire Lake Como. We couldn’t ask for a better stay! You won’t regret it.
