Fantastic hillside cabin/home above Calci. The views are amazing. Watching the sunrise burn off the clouds trapped in the valley, as the sun slowly lights up the other side of the mountains is a memory I won’t soon forget. The house appears hand built, and built with real care and quality. The artistic touches throughout the house, like the rope light fixtures, were a great addition, and show the owner’s attention to detail. Driving up to the house is a bit of an adventure, but well worth the effort. Luigi, the owner, was beyond gracious, and his sincerity and helpfulness was much appreciated. The best comment I can make is that I will be back.

Great location and few minutes walk from the main square, basic accommodation but clean and comfortable, shutters on the window which ensure the room is dark if wanted but equally they can be opened from the inside of light is preferred, staff were really helpful and were on hand to assist from 8:30am through to midnight which is very reassuring as a solo female traveller, they also provided very detailed informative instructions prior to arrival on their location for various transport methods. Excellent value for money.

Stunning location and amazing room top terrace bar. Comfy bed and clean with large bathroom. Enjoyed staying in central Pisa and the view from the roof are with the cost of the rather basic room. Breakfast was OK.

The Royal Victoria is the only hotel in Pisa historic centre overlooking the River Arno. Take a short walk across charming, mediaeval streets and you will soon reach the Leaning Tower.
