Best place if you are looking for a chill stay and visiting Como lake and Bergamo. Only one hour from Varenna by car and 45 minutes to Bergamo (if you are not afraid of driving on narrow mountain roads. We loved it!) We spent a night in the double room and it was the cleanest house we have ever seen. They have a proper big Italian kitchen, well equipped to share with other guests. The views are stunning and the check in and communication with the host is incredibly easy. The pizza restaurant next to the house has some serious wines and delicious calzones.
Overlooking Lake Como, 100 metres away, NH Lecco Pontevecchio is a 5-minute walk from Lecco’s historic centre and a 10-minute walk from the train station.

Beautiful location, really good size rooms, all the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The pool was opened and the upstairs so gorgeous. The restaurant was also 10/10. Trekking (anywhere) is generally easy and with good views on both sides of the mountain (towards Lecco you will see the many lakes in the area; on Bergamo's side I would advice the '3 faggi (3 beeches)' walk).
One hidden gem, 30 mins drive towards Bergamo is Arnosto (in Fuipiano), a beautiful small hamlet which marked the mountain border in the XVII century between the dukedom of Milan and the Venetian Republic, whose custom offices were hosted in the still visible buildings.
