Gatto Bianco Tizzauli, hotel in Montespertoli

Surrounded by vineyards, Gatto Bianco Tizzauli is in Montespertoli in the Tuscan countryside.

This hotel has traps. When booking the room, I didn't tell you that I would need to pay an extra 30 euros after 8pm. There is also a long and terrible road to the hotel. It is bumpy and full of sharp stones, which makes me worry that my tires will be cut at any time. Dishonest merchants and terrible roads are highly not recommended.

Podere Le Rondini, hotel in Montespertoli

With an outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace, Podere Le Rondini offers elegant-style accommodation with wood-beamed ceilings.

Not too much. Please read carefuly the description. I was in Toscany many times and could not imagine that for 200 eur (chippest room!) receive nothing but the shelter and bed. No climate, no host, no view, no food, no….coffee. Nothing. Really… There is a lot of places which deliver much more for half of the price.

The views and facilities for the kids were amazing! We had a spacious apartment, the kids could run outside in the morning and they loved the trampoline and play area. Breakfasts were delicious, as were the two dinners we had at the apartment whilst we were staying. Lisa, the host, and her colleague were incredibly kind and friendly.

The accommodation is at the end of a Strada Bianchi...so the car gets a bit dusty.... Its location is excellent; trips to the major cities like Volterra are easy to do and at the same time the accommodation is peaceful and quiet. We used the pool every day to freshen up. The house has thick walls so it stays reasonably cool inside. At the pool comfortable beds and chairs and parasols. The kitchen is well equipped with a good fridge.

We stayed at this hotel for 13 days.

We stayed at this hotel for 13 days. The surroundings are stunning, But, sadly, the room we got looked nothing at all like the pictures we saw advertised. The room was very spacious though and the bed was lovely to sleep in. The airco worked perfectly. It was cleaned every day, and we got new towels every other day. The decor, though, was severely lacking. No pictures, spotty (new paints applied) ceiling, some mismatched furniture and an ancient chair. There were two lights hanging from the ceiling that were mismatched, utilitarian and gave very harsh lighting, too. The bathroom was extremely narrow, the toilet was squeezed into the space besides the shower stall. There was only a rain shower, that leaked, and no other showerhead to use, The water pressure was low most times. The shelving, though ample, was at an angle, which had stuff sliding off. The worst faux pas in my opinion was the fact that there was no actual toilet roll holder, but some sort of coat hook that was, badly, attached to the wall and basically hanging off one screw. The pool area was super. It is spacious and has ample seating options and parasols. The breakfast was nice, the croissants were lovely and the lady at breakfast was so very sweet. For dinner, the restaurant reserves seating for its guests, so there is always a table available for you. The food was a bit hit-and-miss sometimes, but overall tasty. The location of the hotel is perfect. There is a little town, Montespertoli, nearby with a supermarket, restaurants, etc. And if you want to visit towns and cities further afield, you are quickly on the motorway. I would recommend this hotel, due to the location, but only with a better room.

    Very beautiful region.

Very beautiful region. Good starting point for traveling around Tuscany. Excellent restaurants, with excellent food, for any type of customer, from local cantina-style up to Michelin-star luxury, special attention to i'Bacco Toscano with their excellent staff and atmosphere. The region is not very well updated in Google Maps so don;t rely too much on that, but regular nav-apps are even worse. Nevertheless, signing is pretty good. Local roads are not the best, but this is a general "rule" in Italy, where only the highways are good.

Montespertoli is a typical little Italian town but in a spectacular landscape between Florence and Siena, an ideal base for exploring the region. It has most of the facilities you need especially the refurbished Co-Op. Go to Cera una volta in nearby Lucardo for a combination of good Tuscan food and a spectacular setting for dinner.

The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful with their suggested itineraries and activities. We loved being on a farm/vineyard in such a beautiful location. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the chef was willing to accommodate our vegan friends. We had a car so could travel to different Tuscan towns with ease from this location. We also enjoyed the vineyard tour and pizza making activities they offered. We also enjoyed renting e-bikes through Tuscany by Bike, conveniently located in nearby Montespertoli.

Such a lovely quiet countryside hotel - which was super convenient as the bus from Florence dropped us off at the bottom of the drive!! We were there for a wedding in local castle & the owner very kindly offered to drop us as it was 30min drive in sweltering heat. We walked as we wanted to appreciate the views. The pool was perfect & we had such a lovely relaxed time reading our books & staying away from the high sun! Breakfast was substantial continental spread & we had a super tasty omelette on first morning.

This place is hands down one of the most tranquil and relaxing spots I’ve ever been to. The service was exceptional, food was delicious, and views were unmatchable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Daniel and Max, part of the hotel staff, had made the trip for us. Anything we needed was done immediately with care and diligence. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Tuscany.

First of all, Paola, the hostess, was super kind to us. Tended to all our needs, helped us with recommendations, reservations, and generally made our us feel welcomed. Above all, English is her mother's toung which is super helpful and uncommon in Italy. Besides that, the villa is amazing, well kept and clean. It has all the amenities you need.

The pool was so refreshing, sunbeds were delightful. Breakfast was wonderful. Many selections. The meals were the best we'd had in our 16 day journey through Italy. We had the steak for dinner one night and it was literally the best steak we'd ever had. Even the potatoes were outstanding. I highly recommend a stay here.

Arrival and departure via bus from Florence - the owner picked me up at the bus station when I arrived and brought me back when I left Montespertoli. Living room - nice sight on the landscape. Montespertoli has a nice place in the middle of the village, with a super market, restaurants and very good ice-cream.

It was a pleasure to stay there. A very friendly and sympatic family operates a B&B which is located in a very nice renovated old farmhouse, located between hundreds of olive trees. And in Montespertoli you should not miss to visit the restaurant Lo Zero!
