Excellent location on the lake shore, 50 yards to the boat terminal. Modern and contempory decor, very clean and very comfortable spacious rooms. Brilliant breakfasts - nothing better than eating outside in glorious Italian sunshine. Excellent staff helping with all our needs, including recommending and booking superb local restaurants to dine in the evenings.

My room was cute with access to the lake terrace. I even had a bathtub and a multi jet shower. The bed for my personal taste could have been a little softer. Breakfast was simple and descent. Reception staff was amazing! What's important to know, is that you have limited access to the Hotel by car. The way there is very narrow and for smaller cars only at a certain time a day. It has car parks a little further away tho.
Hotel Panoramico adults only offers views of Lake Orta in the distance. It is a family-run property in Madonna del Sasso set in the Boleto area near the sanctuary.

Considering the distance between the Hotel and town, eating meals on the spot was practical, and the quality was fair, but not exceptional. Generally speaking, I would have liked to see more of organic and local producers beiing valued and advertised (no green washing please). The price was a little on the high side too.

The hotel is quite modest when it comes to the exterior and decor, but very clean and welcoming because of the friendly and helpful staff and great food. Dinner was excellent and one of the best we had during our 2,5 week stay in Italy (amongst which were 4 star hotels). Good beds and great breakfast.
Overlooking Lake Orta, Albergo Ristorante Pomodoro offers a restaurant, free Wi-Fi in public areas, and a furnished terrace. The Mottarone ski lifts are only 20 minutes’ drive away.

We stayed in Alzo, part of Pella apparently, but its own little village up the hill somewhat on the west side of Lago d'Orta. The square looks over the lake: fantastic view with a small village feeling. Post office, lodging choices, church, dining (Osteria del Gallo), bank, all a short drive down to Pella or up more to the homes and sights high above.

Take the ferry on Lake Orta across to the island for a closer look. It really is a very pretty area, one of the best kept secrets among the Italian Lakes - everyone has heard of Como and Garda, but all the others are worthy of a short trip too - you can easily cover Orta in a day. We drove around it about three times in all, went to a market in Orta town, bagged a great handmade belt that we had seen in The Grand Dino Hotel for 198 euros for 85 euros, had a nice meal in Pella at La Pizzeria near the ferry stop. There are lots of beautiful views across the Lake and along the mountains, churches and mansion houses overhanging the sides of the mountains displaying all their beauty and grandeur seemingly out of reach. Spectacular in sunlight or moonlight.

Many lake resorts are very commercialised.
Many lake resorts are very commercialised. Pella isn't - yet it is still vibrant in summer due to the presence of the Pizzeria, Restaurant, Gelateria and the boat for travelling to and from Orta San Giulio and the Orta island. It's a small place, but it is really nice. It is also easy to catch boats to other parts of the lake.

Small quiet place!
Small quiet place! Still there are supermarkets where you can buy what you need. We are not pasta lovers and it is served everywhere, so we cooked ourselves.
We didn’t use public transport, so I really recommend renting a car or motorcycle to get to the places.
The best things to do here is swimming, kanoe, sup surfing and of course taking part in Oceanman Lago d’Orta!

A quieter town than the other side of the lake, with less traffic, fewer tourists, and lots to see -- scenery, historic architecture, an amazing cemetery -- in the hillsides and along the water, Pella is very walkable and compact. On a busy Saturday night, we were fortunate to score dinner outdoors at Taverna Antico Agnello, in a historic villa across and above the lake, thanks to last-minute reservations made by our host.
Cute building with very nice and clean rooms. Very authentic Italian life style. The lady is very friendly and can give you tips (in Italian). Little shop close by, great view over the lake just a few meters down the road with a cute Picknick Spot. The hotel is a good starting point to walk Madonna del Sasso or go on a bike ride.
Café with open bathing spot down the hill.
Pella is lovely. Two fabulous restaurants (a tasting menu for 30 EURO) and a lovely cafe that did great crepe.
We enjoyed the peacefulness of the place. Looking over at the island and the town opposite. Ferries are easy to use. Truly relaxing and a hidden secret.
Hosts were lovely too. Limited English (apart from their son) but made us very welcome.
Our second stay at La Séca was as we remembered it. We really enjoy the location (lake orta, less touristy) and the hotel with its charming interior and atmosphere. The owner is so kind and helpful and her little helper, the dog panchi is really cute.
This time we had the room with a balcony towards the mountain which was super nice!
Host and service lady are very nice, even prepared a chocolate cake for us. The house is cozy, nicely decorated and a unique experience. Location is calm with incredible view over the lake, still not far from Pella and a perfect starting point for hikes. Try it out, you will not regret it!
+ Great view for Lago di Orta from the room
+ Nice and helpful host
+ Good breakfast
+ Private parking
+ Town of Pella itself is very convenient if you want to go across the lake to Isola di San Giulio and Orta.
Quite a friendly hosts, they made eggs, even though it was not in breakfast menu.
You defenitely should have a car to travel around or book a boat in advance in Pella in adavnce (no certificate for boat needed)
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Sabina and Javier are great hosts. The restaurant is outstanding, offering authentic Piemontese dishes and a good selection of local wine. Definitely worth a visit!
