Excellent location, close to the station and the ruins. Excellent staff, helpful and polite, breakfast excellent!
Just 5 minutes from the archaeological site, this hotel takes its name from the ruins of an ancient Pompeian villa located on the same street.

The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station and busstop, plus only a few hundred metres from the entrance of the Pompei ruins. The bus took us to the entrance of the Vesuvius, ideal for our destination, the walk to the top. (no toilets there, so go at the station/bus stop)
Located next to the Pompei Santuario Station, Hotel Palma is just a short stroll away from Pompeii’s ancient ruins. Enjoy views of Mount Vesuvius from its panoramic terrace.

The Hotel is right in front of the regional trainstation which makes arrival from napoli easy and the entrance to the ruins of Pompei is only a short walk away. From where also the public bus up Vesuv has its first stop and its still easy to get seats on it.. The breakfast was very good. The room was cosy and the staff very friendly and helpful.
There is a wonderful rooftop area with whirlpool - but it wasn't operational yet and we had no time to use it - but i think it must be very nice.

Our stay at Hotel Maiuri was very pleasant. The room was lovely and clean. We booked a taxi to the ruins as we had a tour booked. The hotel manager drove us and showed us all the hi lights of Pompeii which was very kind. The ruins were amazing by the way. There was a restaurant opposite which served great food for dinner.
Hotel Calypso is sure to leave you with happy memories. Set 10 minutes' stroll from the station and the ruins, this small hotel is renowned for its friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Fly to Naples International Airport, 25km from Pompei. From there, take the Circumvesuviana train (40 minutes). Alternatively, drive via A3 motorway (30 minutes). For domestic travellers, direct trains from Rome take approximately 2 hours.
The most convenient airport for Pompei, Italy is Naples International Airport. It's ideal due to its proximity, approximately 30 kilometres away, and its extensive domestic and international flight connections.
Pompei, Italy, is well-served by public transport. The Circumvesuviana train connects Pompei to Naples and Sorrento, while local buses provide access to the city's key sites. Taxis are also available. Alternatively, Pompei is compact and pedestrian-friendly, making walking a viable option. Cycling is less common due to the city's cobblestone streets.
The best area to stay in Pompei, Italy, is the city centre, near the archaeological site. It offers easy access to historical attractions, restaurants, and shops. It's also well-connected to public transport, making travel convenient.

Obviously the ruins (Scavi) are the main draw, but the town is very pretty. The Catholic Basilica does not have the size of the major basilicas in Rome, but it is just as beautiful. You do not have to stay here in order to see the ruins, but it does make it a less hectic experience. The ruins are free on the first Sunday of every month and on certain holidays. We went for free on Liberation Day (25 Apr).

Definitely a great place to stay to see the nearby attractions but, despite having three train stations, the transport links are not great. We were based here for a week and found the public transport frustrating. Last minute platform changes for trains only announced in Italian and giving insufficient time to change to the right platform. Buses leaving up to ten minutes early or not stopping. There is a Flixbus to Sorrento but it only gives three and a bit hours on a day trip from Pompei. To visit Capri we had to have a night in Sorrento which was an unexpected extra expense. On a final note if you eat gluten free the choice is fantastic. It is understood and catered for!

Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
As a solo female traveler I always felt very safe, and I was able to fully enjoy and explore both the city, and the sights like the ruins and mount vesuvius.
Note that there aren’t any Ubers or any easy way to get a taxi if you’re staying a little outside the main city core (I stayed at a 30 minute walk away from the Main Street), but it’s very walkable and there’s pavement all around, and some busses if you can figure them out but I generally just walked everywhere :)
There’s also areas for parking if you’re bringing/renting a car or even for campers and RV’s right next to the city centre (abt 3-5min walk from the Main Street).
The Pompeii ruins are a must visit and I recommend going with a guide that’s also an archeologist, I found several tours including the one I took that also went to Herculaneum via GetYourGuide. There I also found the “tour” (just a shuttle bus really) that went to the highest entrance of Mount Vesuvius (leaving a 20min/1km hike to the top of the crater) which was also very cool and I definitely recommend going there too while you’re in Pompeii!

The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit.
The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit. We booked a personal guide with Askos tours. A fella by the name of Alfredo. He was an archaeologist and had worked on the excavation of Pompei so he was full of amazing facts. You can walk around on your own but without the right guide it would be a waste. So many amall details that you would miss on your own. Its a long day walking but worth every step. I would highly recommend seeing it.

We took a tour with archaeologist which was interesting.
We took a tour with archaeologist which was interesting. sadly it was afternoon so did not have long to look around and places closed at 4pm. would go in first and look around or spend longer after. January nice and quiet.
Location-wise, the hotel is facing Pompeii Ruins, which is surely convenient if you're a tourist.
The very much delicious breakfast takes place at the top of the hotel with windows facing Mt Vesuvius, and watching the sun rise while sipping coffee was appreciated.
Parking is included and that was very much accommodating, with a dash of culture - the mini-park inside of the parking zone is peppered with antique-like sculptures.
Having a restaurant on the ground floor left the best impression, too.
This is a little gem of a place run by the most excellent Teresa and her father. The room was exceptionally well appointed, comfortable, modern and well facilitied. It was the best standard of room I had while in Italy this time. I also had a view of Vesuvius from my window.
Teresa is lovely, extremely helpful and knowledgeable (listen to her tips) about what to do and how to get around. Also about local restaurants etc. I really enjoyed staying in Pompeii and will definitely be back :)
Marina was an amazing host who made us feel very welcomed and gave us the best private tour of Pompeii. She is warm, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. She really brought the ruins to life with her descriptions and I could not recommend her enough. We have been on a lot of tours and this far surpassed any tour guide we have had before. 10 / 10
The accommodation is centrally located near the ruins and lots of restaurants. We had 3 adults stay and were comfortable.
This is about a mile from Pompeii ruins with private parking. Very clean and comfortable place, fully furnished. There are mats either side of the bed, in the kitchen and bathroom. This is most welcomed as in the winter as the floors can be very cold. In fact this is the first place, in Italy, to have this, and we have stayed in lots of different places on our travels.
Mirko and his brother are very friendly and helpful. Great place and would highly recommend.
Located steps from the train station and the town center. The basilica is a five minute walk and can be seen from the B and B. the entrance to the Archeological Park is within walking distance. There is also a winery 15 minutes from the B and B.
The room is modern and bright. The bed was comfortable and there was a full size shower which is not seen to often in Italy!
It was one of my best stay over many years of traveling in Italy. The family are excellent hostess. Special thanks to Aurelia for her generosity and great cooking and Simon for always being there to provide us his car services. We were treated like part of the family. I would stay there in the future travel and highly recommend it.
Everything was great. The flat had everything you may need. The garden is also great inwhich you can have the great breakfast the host prepared. It was the best hotel/homestay breakfast in Italy because there was both sweet and salty things Juice coffee fruits... The host gave me ride to the Pompei old city.
location, decor, easy or checkin, hospitality. you can’t get better location than this for Pompeii visit. close to both train stations. across the street from amphitheater entrance of ruins. great art work and history. discount on boutique restaurants downstairs. easy pickup form hotel for Amalfi coast tour
Everything! Location is great, breakfast was great, they helped us every step of the way from getting to the hotel to finding a private driver to the almafi. The location is located so you can walk to the Pompeii ruins and to the town for dinner. They also held our bags after check out so we could explore.
Hotel staff was super pleasant. Rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. 4th floor breakfast facility is well appointed and overlooks the Pompei ruins with breathtaking view of Mr Vesuvius. The hotel’s restaurant staff were also very nice and the food delicious!
The location was great, close to Pompei ruins.
The staff were wonderful, went out of their way to meet your needs. Best breakfast, and food for a lunch while visiting Pompei ruins. Very friendly and helpful staff, Maria even drove us to the entrance to the ruins.
Very nice owners, good english. Very friendly. Nice teracce and decoration on teracce. We ger recommendation to restaurant by next door And there were probably our best food in Italy. Highly recommended.
The interior is so good .. it was my fav stay entire Italy trip and lady answered my cal even in late night and helped me to reach the property, very friendly environment near by everything.
The hotel boss was very helpful. He advised on how to visit museums and how to get to Vesuvius.
The breakfasts were amazing! The best croissants in Italy (baked by the hotel!)
The room was clean and beautifully designed.
The manager of the hotel gave us a lot of advices regarding sightseeing.
Best hotel in our trip around Amalfi coast and Pompei.
Was made so welcome from the first minute. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. If we are back in Pompei we would definitely be staying at Hotel Palma.
