Awesome place to chillax or as a base to explore the mountainside. Great feel in the home with cool man cave knick-nacks. Well set out to take full advantage of the spectacular views from inside and out. While Triora has limited eateries, it is a geniune hidden gem for it authenticity and friendly people.

Ca' de Baci' du Mattu, hotel in Triora

Situated in Mendatica in the Liguria region, Ca' de Baci' du Mattu features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property has garden and quiet street views.

I've never been in a more rustic environment than in Mendatica. It's the ideal retreat from busy city life! You can walk for days in the forests without encountering anyone, see lots of wildlife and starry skies. The cabin is big and very well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette is well-equipped, with pans, pots and bialettis, an induction cooking plate, a fridge and an electric oven. The owner, Piero, is very helpful and friendly. Something to keep in mind: Mendatica is very small. Consider cooking yourself (nearest restaurant is 15 min by car) and visiting a supermarket before going up in the mountains. But there is also a very small shop in the village for some basic groceries (pasta, passata, canned foods,...)

    loved it!

loved it! it's a very small medieval village way up in the mountains. there are only a few other villages visible in the neighboring mountains & forest as far as the eye can see. being so small it doesn't have many shops, so if you need that, be aware. however! if you are just a nerd, like me, it's awesome. So many winding passages & alleyways, strange spooky little corners. it makes your imagination run wild. We visited the witch houses at the back of town also & they definitely have a feeling to them. the town definitely has a deeply spiritual feel to it. also one needs to be fairly able bodied to get around. very steep steps & stairs & very cobbled. great work out, that's for sure.

Triora is a unique medieval village with some authentic B and B accommodation. Don’t miss Lerbagatta for the best food in the area. You need to be prepared for difficult walking conditions so not for those who have any walking difficulties.
