The location couldn't be better. It was like 100m from the train station. The bus station was also right outside the door.
There was also a small shopping and dining area on the ground level in the same building. And of course you can find a Lawson convenience store 50m in front of the hotel too.

It's a bit further from the train station but close to other attractions (food, shopping). Staff is very nice. Coffee/tea available. Some free snacks during certain hours too. When I had to leave, it was raining quite a bit. And then realised that the airport shuttle was 4 min away. So could avoid hurling my luggage for a long time. It's nothing fancy. But all you need if you want to explore the city. Keep in mind, I don't really care about hotels. I'm happy if good location and clean. It had that and free coffee downstairs. I wanted to explore lamb restaurants, so was in a great location. If you want clean, pleasant, and not expensive, good choice.

A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is ideally located close to Hakodate’s train station. We walked from there in less than 10 minutes. Our twin room was spacious, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and lots of amenities (coffee, tea, water, kettle, iron, safe, etc.). The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast on offer had a huge selection that was fresh and tasty. The spa on the rooftop was very special.
Mount Hakodate and Sabo Kikuizumi (a small cafe that's one of the locations in the Love Live Series). My dudes, I could spend an hour talking about how much I loved Sabo Kikuizumi. I got to sit down in Leah's room. Just perfect. North side of the house (no direct sunshine), in the shade of some trees, open windows and doors to allow the breeze to cool everything down, and a view of the harbor down below.
Oh, the hotel? It's close to the station.
Good location with a nice rooftop outdoor and indoor public bath. Also a nice lounge area can enjoy the harbour view and Mount Hakodate in the background. Free coffee and tea plus outdoor (pay) parking available. Short walk to most places and great staff services. Plus in room washing machine with built in dryer is perfect for us so that we can do some laundry (detergent provided) after over a week of traveling!
Onsen was really nice. The hotel has a corner of soft serve ice-cream and sparkling wine. I love how comfy this hotel is. It was clean and the large room included drip coffee for your morning. I am booking a tatami room and twin room. Both are comfy. The staff is really polite even not good in english but she try to communicate with me. This hotel is quiet and relaxing in Hakodate.
The hotel is located within 5 to 10 min walk from the train station and Hakodate Morning Market. There is a large parking lot. The room was very spacious and we could open 5 luggages. Toilet and shower room are separate which is great for large groups. Bed was very comfy and the TV could access YouTube and Netflix. They also provided pyjamas which was pretty comfy.
We loved our very clean spacious room, the warm welcome and care of our hosts. They embodied the spirit of a ryokan or good niche hotel. Not in terms of luxury but by their hospitality. The location is perfect, and, as we noted, staying here in this lovely decorated place was a worthwhile attraction of Hakodate in itself.
I love this place so much , easy to check in , the room was big enough for family. The morning market and Lucky Pierrot hamburger was super close to the hotel.
Soooooo convenience !!!
I can walk to the Port and many places from the hotel.
This hotel is in my list if I come back to Hakodate again for sure.
good location and very nice view of both bay and mountain we can see from the room.
breakfast line is wonderful, even it’s quite packed as there are not enough seats considering room and guest number for the hotel but the food variety and quality can compensate.
I loved the location, the view, the room design itself, amenities, and the convenient location to the Train station. A hotel I would have liked to have stayed longer at. Perhaps if I'm ever in Hakodate again I'll stay a few nights instead of one.
Hotel breakfast was ok. The location is convenient, as it's only a short walk to the morning market area, where you can find a wide variety of seafood and fresh fruits. Additionally, the hotel is close to the Hakodate JR station.
The staff here are helpful and bilingual in Japanese and English. The check in and check out process was easy. The hotel itself is stunning! Great room design, stylish foyer, and lots of information about Hakodate.
cool concept with the pillow selection corner. Rooms are cozy and very functional. Best for short stays. Located Just opposite the morning market, and linked to JR Hakodate which is just beside the hotel
The Hotel is located not far from Hakodate station, there is a local supermarket next to the hotel, and the room size is a normal business hotel standard, and clean with all the necessary items.
- close proximity to JR hakodate station and Aeon shopping mall.
- room is clean and furnished with the necessary amenities.
- basically a value for money, no frills hotel.
A very comfortable stay and all the staff were polite, helpful and nice. The hotel was near to Lawson, Family Mart and JR Hakodate Station. The beds were comfortable.
