The location was great - just a couple of blocks away from the train station.
The staff kindly provided me a coin locker free of charge to temporarily store my luggage after check-out.
The room was cheap.
There was actually complementary breakfast, contrary to the room description.
Two pillows.

The staff at the Marriott are truly exceptional, and went above and beyond for us. They were extremely polite, and very friendly. The hotel space was nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The view from the room was also beautiful.

Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable!
The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for.
The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely.
Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

Very conveniently located within a few minutes walk from the station. There are lockers to store bags (etc.) if you arrive before 15h. Clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast. Separate toilet and washing facilities (as indicated in the description) that are nice and clean. Reasonably priced also.

I really liked the atmosphere, especially the lounge. It was very comfy. I liked the smell. I liked the “quirkiness” of it. There was a foot heater in the lounge too. If you share this place with chill neighbours it’s wonderful… (minus the major negative).
I felt the bed was large enough. A fridge in the room is provided. A locker is also provided. There was a couch in the dorm which was so soft it eats you alive.
Power outlet also provided, but a little too high up.
Clothes hanger provided also.
I met two of the staff over 2 nights and they both knew english and were kind.
I didn’t have dinner here, I cannot comment on it.
My first night was horrible due to a very large group of loud and rude foreigners. My initial thought was that this place was horrible, but they were gone the next day and I could finally appreciate the place. I think I would return if I ever come back to Nikko.
