Onsen facilities had a great view and water temperature was on the hotter side. Make sure to have a soak in the morning and evening as they change the baths around at different times of the day. Nice stay if you want to try Tatami style room and want a good view of the lake.

Everything. The staff are amazing, hospitable and go the extra mile with a smile. The views are breathtaking. The entire hotel faces the lake, and sitting on the large bed and looking out at the view was so relaxing. The onsen had an inside and outside bath, which we loved. The wooden bath outside every hotel room was wonderful. Soaking in the hot water while looking over the lake and up at the moon was magically. The food was delicious. Besides the breakfast, we also celebrated one of our birthdays at dinner at the hotel restaurant. The 7 course meal was absolutely delicious and fresh. And the cake platter was special for the birthday girl. The staff was very attentive. It was the off peak tourist season so the hotel was quiet, which we enjoyed as it felt like our very own paradise.

The owner was absolutely lovely! The rooms were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The location was perfect for getting to the grand onsen, and wasn't far from several bus stops to get around Lake Toya. There is a coin laundry and a great sushi place next door. We were allowed to store our bags in the laundry on the day of check out, which helped up make the most of our last day.
Would 110% stay here again

Didn’t like it in late February. The only thing to do is go to the onsen, some of the hotels will grant you access for a small fee if you’re not staying there.
There is a boat tour (looks like a princess castle, sort of weird), pricey and so so boring, they don’t even go all around the lake and it doesn’t stop for you to step on the islands.
Overall, very sad town in February.

Taking a slow stroll along the lakeside with cooling breeze blowing towards you is refreshing and makes you feel so free.
A must visit to Mount Usu taking the cable car and walking along the Ropeway is scenic.
A short drive of about 10 minutes from Lake Toya there is a Little Farm that serves very good ice cream, coffee and pizza. Children loves the goats in this farm land.

Beautiful and scenic but you are not allowed to swim in the lake because it is a Unesco site. I was unable to Google this info so I'm sharing it here. It is 90 degrees here today so that sucks. They don't mind you dipping your feet but there are no swimming beaches. You can get wet if you are boating or on SUPboard. I probably would’ve toured another part of the country if I knew I couldn’t swim in the lake in the middle of an extremely hot summer. the south of like Toya is filled with Asian tourists. We enjoyed the quiet north side.

Exceptional room to wake up in every morning, with a full view of Lake Toya. Soaking in the hot bath in the room and enjoying the fireworks nightly is indeed a pleasure. Service staff are helpful and polite, and the meals are sumptuous. Indeed a memorable experience.

It was nice generally.
It was nice generally. It offers a great view if the weather is clear and not foggy. We were there on 30/12/23 it was winter, weather was cloudy foggy and snowing and we can’t see much. Anyway we enjoy strolling along the lake side with snowfall, feels so peaceful, romantic and beautiful. We went to Mt Usu by using the ropeway. We was at the crater unfortunately it was covered with a thick snow so we didn’t get what we want to see. If I happen to travel to Lake Toya again, I would like to try hiking.
free parking, good location, good views, quiet in winter, room size for 3 adequate comfortable, tatami floor and beds, clear instructions on how to use the onsen, great service overall, onsen is perfect , there is an outdoor onsen and indoor area. the food breakfast and dinner served was great . it is not as classy as the newer hotels but it is more traditional and that is what we wanted. check in and check out was fast. there is lift facility. well maintained and warm even tho its winter and 1deg celsius
The owner was waiting for us at the exact time we told him we'll arrive. We got sweets and discount tickets to onsen. I was amazed by that onsen hotel, Infinity rooftop pool, it was fantastic. We had a car, the lake and shops are in a 3 min drive. The hotel is quite old, but everything was good. Clean bed sheets, warm, bright, no smoke smell in the room, silent at night. We were travelling with a 1 year-old toddler, it was safe for her too. There is a loft in the room, we did not use it.
I don’t often write reviews but my stay in this hostel just needs one. I stayed here for only one night on my trip trough Hokkaido and it was just amazing. The accommodation is clean and cozy and the beds are soo comfortable. But the best: the hosts. They were so kind and helped me with all my questions. English conversation is also possible! :-) Since it was heavily raining on the morning I left, the offered me a drive to the bus station. Thank you so much, Keiko-san, arigato gosaimasu.
The location of the hotel was great - right in front of the lake and next to the main bus stops. We were also right next to the outdoor foot spa and good food locations. The breakfast buffet was excellent (plenty of vegetarian options for my husband) and we loved the onsens, particularly the outdoors one.
We very much appreciated the free shuttle to the train station - they proceeded with the bus booking even though we were there only ones booked at that time.
One of the best properties we've visited in our travels in Japan. Modern, clean, spacious. View of Lake Toya was breathtaking, especially with full view of the nightly fireworks. Breakfast/dinner buffets had so many choices/stations and were delicious, with a spectacular view of the lake while dining. Onsen was lovely, especially the open air bath at the top of the hotel where you can see the stars at night. We regret only staying for one night.
Public transport generally isn't great in Japan but we managed to get there from Niseko by bus smoothly and bus stop is outside hotel.
Lovely onsen with outdoor area and great pools esp during winter times.
Buffet dinner and breakfast had a great variety and there was even a little tea time snack bar provided. We had no need to leave the hotel except to take in other views of the lake.
It's an old-schooled Onsen Ryokan (Japanese style Onsen hotel). No doubt that the facility is old but if you want to experience the old day Japan, this is the place! They have rooms with Tatami mats and futon. You can walk around the hotel in Yukata bathrobe. Onsen (hot tub) was amazing. Good breakfast. Amazing view of Lake Toya and Mt. Yotei. Free firework show every night.
Very gracious, sweet, and kind host, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Enjoyed our breakfast and the variety every morning. Nice spacious house overlooking Lake Toya. Location is very peaceful, about 20 min from Rusutsu. We were able to send our skis in advance to the house and she helped us in shipping our skis back home!
Very very surprise for the room. Thank for the staff arrange us a good lake view room. And the out door Onsen is so nice. From the hotel go out behind is the Toya Lake. They view is very very very nice. And the price is very very cheap for the Hotel which have Onsen and lake view.
Affordable, comfortable, cosy and nice place to stay for a day or two. Very clean shower rooms and toilets. Very near to Lake Toya and the fireworks. There are convenience stores nearby. The owner Keiko-san also recommended bus to Sapporo with its time table. Overall great stay.
Everything! Spacious and clean room. The view overlooking Lake Toya was just perfect! The room was so comfortable. Definitely one of the highlights of our hokkaido trip! It’s around 15 mins drive to the town area but we loved the quiet and relaxing surroundings here!
Buffet food and quality is good. Staff are helpful and very polite. No problem with their front line staff in term of English speaking. Very good location, can get very good front view Lake Toya. Like the onsen too, clean and have outdoor pool.
The open air onsen was really nice! They give you Yukatas to wear, and the traditional style hotel was really something we wanted to experience, which we got to here! The staff was also all really nice, and some also spoke english really well!
The rooms were comfortable and the hotel buffets (dinner and breakfast) were a good spread for the amount we paid. The onsen was not too spectacular but good enough for use even though it gets crowded in the evening.
One of the best choices for a great Lake Toya view and fireworks. The facility is clean, has good onsen, a free car park and is quite near to a pharmacy, convenience store and bus station.
super spacious, clean, rooms were huge !!! very very comfortable and really our family’s favourite hotel. staff were really kind and understanding. free parking as well.
Beautiful spacious hotel room, quiet, private, outdoor bathtub, sake bar where I sampled local sakes, onsen with the view of lake toya. High end amenities.
