One of the best experiences we had in Japan , I would highly recommend , I went there with my husband ,we needed top rent a car from Takayama in order to reach it otherwise it would be complicated so I would highly recommend a car , the house is such a beautiful authentic Japanese house , We met Chei San the women of the house and she one of the kindest persons you can ever meet , she was so attentive , generous and lovely that makes it hard for you to leave the property the next day , she taught me how to cook Tempura and another traditional dish , she prepared every meal by herself and most of the ingredients were handmade , I enjoyed cooking and having long discussions with her, she even prepared for us snacks for our way back to Tokyo once she knew we will spend a long time driving , the 2 girls were very lovely , they draw pictures for us and showed us the goats they had , very respectful and kind . The father was great , cooked for us few special dishes that I enjoyed . The experience turns around the family itself and being ina wild traditional Japanese environment. As it is a Unique experience , it would suits social (and not shy) people in order to enjoy it the fullest .

I loved the authentic feel of this place. It wasn’t downtown, therefore it wasn’t walking distance to everything. But for one night stay in town, it was perfect. We arrived into town at 5pm and took a taxi for 1000y to the property. They were waiting for us and dinner was ready. We enjoyed the onsen and went to bed. We woke up in the morning and started our day at the folk Hida Village, which is a 3mins walk. Then we took the bus into town and spent the entire day in town and then left on an evening train. After spending several nights in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto in busy places. The calm, serene feeling was a nice change of scenery.
