The drive up to the location was gorgeous, the host picked me up from Tsumago and after my stay dropped me off to the Nagiso train station. While the host speaks limited english, he is a wonderful conversationalist and a joy to talk to. The accommodation itself is very spacious, the interior design beautiful, and the onsen baths were at really comfortable temperature for me. While I was unable to eat all of the food they served (I have a small stomach, not their fault), I really wish i could have, because I think it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I will definitely come back some day.

The onsen was amazing, and the dinner was a real highlight of our trip (even the bits we weren’t so sure about eating!) the whole experience was wonderful.

What a warm welcome and so many little touches that made the stay very easy. The tents were large and spacious and beautifully furnished. We were kindly upgraded and offered free showers. The staff couldn't have been kinder.

Lovely property that’s been very tastefully refurbished and a fun way to experience more traditional houses. Assi is very helpful and very generously gave us a lift to Magome for the Nakasendo hike. We also really enjoyed Sakashita - there were some good restaurants and it was great to escape the tourists.

We stayed here after walking the Nakasendo trail from Nakatsugawa - > Nagiso. It is such a cool apartment with all the the amenities you need. Takashi is also a great host and even kept his cafe next door open a little later for us to have dinner and a drink whilst we listened to his record collection. He was even kind enough to drive us to the station again the next morning. Would highly recommend staying if you are planning to be in the area.
