I really enjoyed my stay with Travelers House. Hosts are kind and provide quality breakfast and welcoming drinks. Even got a foot bath with beautiful flowers. The room is charming and one can hear great jazz or classical music during breakfast time. Like staying in a liitle museum with plants, collector stamps and book on Hygge.

The view and location of the hotel were out of this world. The staff was also very friendly and tried to help, even though they had some problems understanding English.

Very happy with my stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and nice and I had a small balcony. The breakfast for 500 yen is good. The building is nice and well maintained. You can walk easily from the ferry.

the family that owned the hotel were lovely and so helpful, they sorted out all our evening restaurant reservations for us ( there are not many places to eat and they get booked up quickly so even though its super quiet you need to reserve) and even drove us to the restaurant on the first night, they also gave us a lift into town to catch the ferry on the last day. the room was large and characterful and the balcony and the view and the hot tub were great. there is an amazing beach just 5 minutes away.

The English speaking owner was very friendly and helpful and being a native of Iriomote was very knowledgeable. Hoshitate is a tranquil location with a photogenic beach. There are some rock outcrops close to shore that are wonderful to snorkel and full of reef fish including a family of clown fish … yes I found Nemo! The Hoshitate steak was memorable. if you are there at the right time the owner will take you to see the fire flys.

If u like nature u get woke up by exotic birds, you can see tge sunrise from the terrace. The food and drinks are good. Bed was comfortable , shop and rental services and ferry nearby .

It's important to take the time to enjoy Taketomi outside...
It's important to take the time to enjoy Taketomi outside the groups of tourists visiting the island for only 2 hours. It take 1 full day to discover it and staying 2 nights is highly recommended if you want to take your time. Everything can be done by walk. No need of bicycle at all. Many local craft shops obviously more expensive than the usual touristic trinkets, but definitely worth it. They are fighting and stand against the 5 star hotel occupying a good 1/4 of the island. No convenience store at all.

A great place to stay and good location.
A great place to stay and good location. There has rental service for bicycle, and ease to reach all sight-seeing spots. You won't feel lonely while travel alone and stay there. Restaurants are easy to find around but the rest day is random. The highlight is, owner will bring all guests to go to Kondoi beach to see the sunset, that's fabolous. And there will have drinking party at night in case good weather.
