I felt very welcome, and the owner helped me a lot for my trip.
I loved the interior of the Guesthouse.Its design is in the details. Koji gave me a lot of information about day trips on Kumano Kodo, also about the good Izakaya in Kii Tanabe.

I loved this stay and I can’t wait to go back! I opted to get the food and it was probably the best meal I had in Japan, if not ever! Everyone was friendly and helpful, the location was beautiful, the animals were so adorable. The best goat cheese I’ve had in my life.

A beautiful well renovated traditional Japanese house. The host was very friendly and helpful to plan our trips and hike on Kumano Kodo. The breakfast at the café was delicious. We will stay here on our next visit. A wonderful experience!

Tanabe was our starting point for our Kumano Kodo trek so we stayed in Tanabe only one day not realizing how much there is to do in Tanabe. If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. Having visited Japan so many times, this trip was probably the best of all. I followed the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage and experienced both the people, the culture and the religion of ancient Japan. I spent in total about 4 days walking and all of the accommodations (family run b&b and a hot spring hotel) was all very clean, with tasty food and friendly people. A great little town, and ideal jumping-off point for the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage. The pub quarter was a fun place to get a drink and dinner: great Tako Yaki. Both the Tanabe Tourist Information Centre staff and the Kumano Kodo Travel staff were impeccably professional and helpful in making arrangements for the pilgrimage walk.
