Very kind and friendly owners.
Nice house and external environment.
Parking available. Good dinner.
This is a pretty mountain cottage, not a standard turistic hotel, it looks like the huts in the European Alps: it is a lovely nest.

My friends and I stayed one night here. The staff was very friendly upon arrival. They have a free tea corner which was nice. I did like the bathroom tiles, they were very pretty, but the bath is small and just barely fit two people (my friend and I).

We drive from Tokyo and this hotel is the only one we found can check in until 11 pm. The owner is very friendly and warmed to us. We live in a tatami room with a toilet. In the first floor you can use shower and bath. If you want to go hiking in 尾瀬Oze, this is a good choice since it is 5 mins drive to the bus station to hiking place. The breakfast is really good( traditional Japanese style)and the quilt is comfortable and warm.

The onsens are really the star of the show at this hotel, and the time we spent bathing under the stars, with the sound of the river and the forest at night will be something I never forget. The natural beauty of this place is beyond words and there was a real allure to the isolated nature of the location (even if it is a challenge to get to!). The free shuttle from Meotobuchi Parking Lot was easily accessed with minimal Japanese speaking, and the hotel staff were all polite, helpful and accommodating to us as the only foreigners visiting on a busy weekend.
Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort.

Very typical. We had a ryokan dinner which was one of the highlights of our vacation. People don’t speak English very well but we’re super friendly to try understanding or explaining us the customs.

It's a place to visit for the scenery, not the happening nightlife.
Tamao Kitchen is great for dinner. Large portions, well priced.
Lammin bakery is a bit out of the way but the baked goods are really good.
We drove up to lake Chuzenji, it's beautiful but a tourist money trap.
It's worth taking the ski lift up the mountain out of snow season, there are some lovely walks and views. The foot spa was closed when we visited. There is an onsen at the bottom but it closes at 5pm.
