Lovely place to visit for a quiet break from the hustle of...
Lovely place to visit for a quiet break from the hustle of Phnom Penh. The locals are friendly and it is possible to walk and cycle without having to worry about busy traffic. The silk visitor centre is not particularly interesting but only costs $1 if you want to have a look or use the toilets. I stayed in Le Kroma Villa which is really nice with a pool and restaurant. The nearby Wat is worth a visit. We paid a brief visit to the Beach Resort at the northern tip of the island. Lots of wooden shacks on stilts over the water. A family run B&B, and very friendly, accommodating people. Very nice, clean rooms, with air conditioning and hot water shoers in ensuite bathroom. A lovely, peaceful place in a rural setting, but less than 40 minutes away from Phnom Penh.JohnNepal
