it’s really hard to adequately explain this place. we visited out of season and it’s probably as close as you will get to the perfect “I want to be on a deserted beach, but I need WiFi, electric, some one to cook for me and a cold beer from time to time” that you will get.
rammed full of surfers during the ‘season’ we almost had the place to ourself.
the sea, sadly is a bit rough for swimming but that’s it, nothing to complain about.

We stayed at Whiskey Point during low season and for two nights we had the place all for ourselves. The atmosphere was awesome and despite of staying only for three nights, we felt like family with the staff guys. They had really helpful tips for us. One of our kids best memories of the entire trip is making Pizza in the wood fired pizza oven at Whiskey Point. The Pizza by the way was really good.
I also imagine this to be a nice and quieter place during high season compared to Arugam Bay. At the same time Arugam Bay is only a short TukTuk ride away and easy to reach for a snack or surf session. We would definitely come back

Excellent spot! Great surf break! No crowds. Even if you don’t surf it’s worth spending a couple of nights here just to read, relax, reconnect and recoup!
It’s rather remote so you tend to stay put once you’re there although they do have a tuk tuk should you want to explore surroundings. Not much there other than some farm lands, a small village nearby and another surf resort next door. Makes one appreciate how good life can be when things are kept clean and simple.
