Gihan Villa is a beautiful house with a big garden. Within 5 minutes walk from the ocean and a beautiful beach. The host is a very sweet lady with a great hospitality. Breakfast is included and big.

I had an amazing stay with Navoda, his mother Shoba and sister Malmi. I booked to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 6 nights as they offered for me to stay and enjoy Sinhalese new year with them, joining in with their local traditions. They treated me like family and nothing was to much trouble for them, if there were any questions or problems you only had to ask. Shoba cooked me homemade breakfast, lunch & dinner every day. I enjoyed things like pancakes, milk rice, string hoppers, Kottu, dahl curry with tea or fresh lemon or papaya juices. Location is perfectly placed a 5 minute walk from the beach and turtle research centres, room has working AC and Navoda showed me round the local area/organised anything I needed from transport to day trips. I highly recommend the Villa and for the price there were no complaints, they really try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I learnt a lot from them as we talked many times, I look forward to coming back and visiting their kind hearted family again in the future :)

This was the perfect ending to our Sri Lanka trip. A little oasis next to the beach. Only 0.5 KM walk to the lovely clean beach. The owner and his family were so welcoming and accommodating, They even decorated the room for our 10th Wedding anniversary, so talented and so sweet. Food was freshly cooked and really delicious. The bathroom was beautiful, just like being in a jungle surrounded with beautiful greenery.

Piyal welcomed us very warmly. Also his little son and daughter we met are super sweet and friendly.
We got a welcome drink and piyal told us a lot about the plants and fruits in his garden.This was very informative. Packed our lunch in boxes to bring it to the beach. Also he gave as a lot of good advice what to do and where to go in Sri Lanka and helped with the bus. So you see, very helpful at any time with any topic!

Villa 252 Kosgoda, With its beautiful sandy beaches. Not too busy and very pleasant to stay and lots to do in the erea. A visit to the Galbokka Sea Turtle conservation is very worthwhile! Or a wonderful massage at the Aryuvedic center. Or take a boad safari at the Maduganga lake. The General Tsunami Photography Museum in Telwatta is a must see if you want to know more about this terrible event. From here a trip to the 'Ducht Fort' in Galle is also recommended. In short, Kosgoda is a beautiful place to start or end your Sri Lanka trip…

We have very mixed feelings about what is going on with the sea turtles on the beach. There are many "hatcheries" in Kosgoda. Make sure you read on the internet what is really going on in these places so you can consider (not) supporting them by your visit. Unfortunately, we have experienced also what is going on at night on the beach in this so called "turtle paradise" and honestly, it was not just the worst experience from our whole trip to Sri Lanka but also on of the worst experiences in my life (without exaggerating). I still feel deeply embarrassed about what we had witnessed there and regret visiting Kosgoda.
