Gayashan is the most amazing host, friendly and humble, picked me up from the airport, we did a 2 day trip to the mountains, he drove me to a lot of nice places and was always helpful and courteous.
The accommodation is simple but has a special natural touch, lot of plants and beautifully designed rooms. Breakfast is plenty and yummy. Access to town is easy by rickshaw, you’ll find restaurants there as well. One feels very welcome here!

The staff were very obliging. We arrived at 1am, this was not a problem and they greeted us warmly. Next morning we watched elephants in river from our balcony. The events coordinator took us to a place where we could walk and swim with elephants. He stopped on side of road on way back to try coconut milk. Wonderful staff. We found the breakfast not quite to European tastes.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the complete hotel staff for their remarkable kindness and assistance, which undoubtedly enhanced our stay. We reserve special gratitude for Andrew, our tour guide, whose warm welcome and generous gesture of taking us on a village tour with his car left a lasting impression.
Most notably, witnessing the elephants relishing their river bath was an extraordinary experience. The soothing sound of the river from our room added a truly relaxing touch to our stay.

We stayed in the beautifull place Luck Uyana Cabana, with very nice spice garden. They offer guided tour in the garder for free with foot massage. You can enjoy long massage and pay for it.
They offer discount for elephant ride and bath with Millenium Elephant foundation which is just next door.
Unfortunately we got ride by Tuk Tuk from the bus station and he reocmend some other - cheeper, but not so clean place for elephant bath. We did not have time to go to Pinnawala itself.

Pinnawala is an elephant orphanage with some axillary tourist services around. Keep in mind that the elephants are the priority and you get the opportunity to be there with them in the comfort of a nice hotel. Plan to arrive after 4PM if you are staying in a hotel by the river as the elephants are moving between the river and the orphanage. They came down three times during the day I was there. Fantastic.

It would have been nice to have had time to sit and have lunch watching the elephants and relaxing. There is also a range of shops to explore and I think a chance to go visit the orphanage in addition to seeing the elephants being bathed.
amazing views. no need to go to the elephant orphanage - it comes to you from 8:30-12. rooms are big and clean and VERY comfy beds. the only reason this place doesn’t get 10/10 is that we were a little disappointed in the food. our dinner was quite salty and there wasn’t a variety of Sri Lankan dishes available, felt like the hotel catered to more western style and we had previously been spoilt by food in other hotels on our trip around the country. the staff were amazing, so hospitable and welcoming and happy to help!
I liked it a lot. When I entered they put a welcome sign on me. It has a terrace, living room, large computer room, toilet, dining room. Kasum the host is exceptional, he picked me up and took me to the station, he took me to the Elephant Orphanage and other places. He is an unbeatable tour guide. In fact I work 10 years in airlines. Totally recommended. One 10 in everything. My experience with elephants is amazing.
Excellent place, spacious rooms, with a lot of vegetation. Anushka is very kind, as is his family. He is a very good guide, he knows a lot about his country and its tourist attractions.
If you have any questions, I recommend that you ask anything, he will help you.
It was an incredible day in their cottage and the typical Sri Lanka breakfast was amazing 🤩🤩
I will back , I’m sure 🫶🏻☺️
It was a great stay. They upgraded our room to their chalet which was so spacious and comfortable. We could use the other hotel near Peacock for restaurant and pool and it had the best view of elephants in the river. They offered free drive between hotels making it very very easy to use facilities. Mr Andrew was deeply kind and helpful and we're thankful for the service.
Very nice stay. The containers have everything that you need. AC, Wifi, TV with English channels, hot water, fridge, balkony... It's in a quiet area. Free transport by tuk tuk to a main hotel.witj the pool and the elephant view. Breakfast is a blast! Plenty to choose from. The elephant walk is around 8:30 and 14:00. Really enjoyed my stay!
Location is very convenient to visit the Elephant orphanage & zoo. They have a hotel downstairs. Can take food from there. There are lots of closerby places for food as well. Room is good. Spacious, Clean with basic amenities & hot water & AC. Enough parking space front. Prices are reasonable. Ideal for a night stay during Pinnawala visit
The staff greeted us at our tuk tuk and took care of our bags. Our room was nice and clean. There's a mini bar, for a fee, and a store right below. It's directly across the street from the elephant orphanage. In the morning, around 10:00, you can watch a herd of elephant cross the street. Quite a site
I had booked a triple room with the river balcony and it was amazing! The pool exceeded my expectations. Seeing the elephants made for a very special stay! The hotel itself is very pretty, especially the grand entrance. My room was very big.
The people were really nice, they immediately helped with our luggage, we got a delicious welcome juice, the breakfast was also good and giant. There were towels available and we could park our tuk tuk in front of the hotel
Amazing bed
A nice place and the staff will get to know you well. the pool is really nice and the villas are comfy and cool. Great location, good value, I wold stay here again. The rooms feel off to the side and away from
the busy street.
The hotel is very grand and comfortable. The staff were excellent. They arranged a Sri Lankan food cooking class for us, even though they had a very large organised party going on at the same time.
The location was perfect to see the elephants. The elephants walked right by the hotel entrance. And the owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely visit again!
A perfect stopover between Colombo and Kandy and beyond. Full of old world charm and the tour of the hotel was great! Staff friendly and accommodating!
