Set on a gentle slope overlooking the Salina Bay and the Mediterranean Sea, the 4-star Salini Resort offers 2 outdoor pools. The spacious and stylish rooms come with either sea or countryside views.

The hotel lobby area and restaurants were very clean. Room was relatively clean and were cleaned every day - friendly housekeeping and cleaning staff. Breakfast was limited options however very helpful Muslim staff who was able to tell us what was halal. The spa massage was amazing - one of the best I’ve had. There were baby changing facilities in the lobby area which was fantastic as this was very hard to find in most of Malta.

Waterfront, hotel in Santa Venera

The Waterfront Hotel is set in central Malta, along the sea promenade of Sliema, and features views of Sliema's port, the Manoel Island and Valletta.

Incredible stay! Loved it from beginning to end. We visited Valetta by taxi as it was too windy for the ferry but it was really cheap. As soon as we got there we were grateful we were staying in Sliema which is much quieter and a bit more local. Alex the front office manager is an absolute superstar as is the security guard (who's name I've sadly forgotten). He came from his office to help me get out of the car park when it was a bit tight due to where someone else was.

AX The Palace, hotel in Santa Venera

Just 500 metres from Sliema's bus terminus and Valletta Ferry, The Palace is a 5-star hotel with a rooftop spa with infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

The view from the Junior Suite on the 7th floor was gorgeous. The breakfast was very good, the restaurants inside were nice, and it’s family-friendly. Although the hotel isn’t that new and it shows in a few places, it’s clear this isn’t just any five-star hotel - it has well-established patterns and a long-standing culture. The service is truly five-star, which is what this type of hotel is all about. It’s now my favorite place on the main island, I’ll definitely be back!

Radisson Blu Resort, Malta St. Julian's, hotel in Santa Venera

Set on the seafront in St. George's Bay, this 5-star hotel offers central but quiet location in St.Julians.

I love everything about the Radisson in St George’s. I grew up in Malta and know the area and hotel extremely well - from family visits and so on. It is always a special treat for me to be at that hotel. It’s one of the best Radissons in my opinion. The staff are exceptional and I particularly appreciated the care I was given when I needed ice for a swelling after an unexpected dentist visit. It don’t know which member of staff it was, but when my request for ice was relayed to her, she called my room to get the whole story and to check that I was okay! I was also given extra pillows and tea. The Maltese are second to none when it comes to personable and genuine care for guests.

Santa Venera is a busy district between Valletta and the old capital of Mdina. The buses run to the ferry port to Gozo, Valletta and the hub the other side of Hamrun to access the southern towns so well positioned for exploring. There is a huge supermarket in Hamrum in a new shopping mall, Lidls and 2 Convienience stores open 6am to 9pm daily. 2 churches, many eateries, the Golden Ham is excellent value and good portions, and fantastic Italian bakery/coffee house, they also sell wines etc, and an true Italian restaurant although the service is slow the food is worth waiting for, all in walking distance. The negative is the main road San Guisepp is very busy so choose a room not facing the road.
