Great location, close to where we wanted to be. Wonderful bird life! We had an early start one morning (needing to leave for our tour at 4.30am) and were particularly impressed that, as per our request, staff were waiting outside our room with our packed lunches at 4am!
Surrounded by a vast jungle, Casa Ka’an is an eco-friendly property that functions with solar panels, solar water heaters and biodigestors for waste water treatment.

Wonderful setting in the forest. You can slightly hear the highway, but the trees do a great deal to block the noise. Probably the best option for staying in Xpujil when comparing to other places to stay. The pictures definitely match what you get. The kitchenette has everything you need and they provide some snacks and a few cervezas to enjoy. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Facilities felt very safe and secure (gated). Wish we could have stayed another night.
This is a very rustic stay. There were chickens and turkeys from nearby properties running around the yard which was great. The owner Roque was very hospitable and owned a restaurant near by which was great(ate here twice) Again very rustic but priced just right.
If you are used to fancier accommodations don’t book this place but in general it was great experience being this far into the interior of the Yucatán. Close to Chicanna, Calakmul(1.5 hrs) and Volcun de los murcielos(bat cave)
The property was clean and comfortable, and the owner extremely helpful and kind. Access to the Becan ruins is less than a ten-minute walk, and there are some interesting walks directly from the village for viewing wildlife. Breakfast was simple but delicious. This is a good base for exploring the area, including the park and ruins of Calakmul. Also, if you're looking for a guide to the ruins, contact Abel. The owner knows him, and he is an excellent local guide.
The tents in the jungle are nice set up under a roof so they are covered from the rain. Everything is basic what is what I like. At the lake nearby there is a special calm and nice atmosphere during sunset. A restaurant is 5km away so bring some food if you need.
It is a good basis to visit Calakmul and come back in the evening. The town nearby Xpujil offers plenty of shops.
it was close to the turn off for the Calakmul Biosphere and ruins, so I would highly recommend it. The room was clean, the bed pretty comfortable and the staff very pleasant t. We left at 0530 for the ruins and they kindly gave us a sack breakfast of water, bananas and breakfast bars. The setting is lovely and rural. very quiet.
Very nice hotel in the jungle, made of pretty bungalow with a big pool.
The rooms were nice and the food at the restaurant was good (there are not so many others options around).
Staff was nice and helpful and wifi was working.
The hotel is located at 30min drive from the junction to Calakmul and approx 2h from the site.
if you are in the area to see the Mayan sites this place is excellent. Much more quiet and relaxing than staying in Xpujil. There are two quality restaurants within walking distance. Cute and comfortable cabins in a beautiful little area with chickens and an adorable cat that greeted us when we arrived.
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Maya Calakmul. We stayed at this small hotel because of our visit to Becan and Calakmul, Very good Mexican dinner and breakfast. Friendly staff. We were able to do our laundry and use the fridge in the communal area. WIFI and air conditioning were decent. Good for 2 nights.
Hotel adjacent the main road, we stayed for only one night with a really late reservation.
Big and decent room with large bed, only soap in the toilette.
The structure was empty except for 4 of us, will be better in the future when the works on the road and on Train Maya will be completed.
Host was very nice and pleasant, breakfast offered. Room was very simple but clean and comfortable. Hotel offering seems very limited and with quite low standards near Xpujil, so we decided to go with a cheap one and we did not regret the value for money at all!
The staff is super kind, we got snacks, water and juices when checking out (we were heading to Calakmul). Great garden you can enjoy and a lot od friendly animals. Great starting point for those who plan to visit Calakmul or just relax.
Beautiful little cabins. Close to Becan and driving distance to Calakmul. Staff were friendly, helpful and provided complimentary breakfast. Facilities are basic but air-conditioned, fridge and everything you need.
The beds were very comfortable, the room clean and the shower good. The owner was very helpful and kind, providing a packed breakfast so we could get on the road early to get to Calakmul.
Close to Calakmul and probably the best option in the area. Owners were nice and accommodating. They packed us breakfast to go the day we went to Calakmul which was very thoughtful.
Good, big hotel, outside Xpujil so suitable for travellers with the car. Generous rooms, quiet, good water pressure and hot water in showers (often missing in hotels in mexico).
