The staff were very friendly and welcoming- they gave us lots of detailed information about visiting the butterflies and hot springs! The grounds are beautiful and vast! The pool is big but looked a bit rundown- I enjoyed my dip none the less! The food in the restaurant is amazing, quite cheap and good service! It's in a beautiful outdoor restaurant with plants and fairy lights! You can get an excellent buffet breakfast with a great choice and mimosas!!!! It was delicious! It's in a great location- in between the butterflies and hot springs.

2 butterfly sanctuaries near by - visit both but only in warm weather because the butterflies are inactive otherwise. There is real coffee in the centre of town and i taught them how to make a flat white! Hotel Marguerita has a good buffet supper deal - but this isn't every night. Hotel Jardin is cute and the owner is the nicest person i met there. Hotel Juarez aren't very nice at all. Don Bruno is expensive but manicured. There isn't always cash in the ATM. Take money with you!

Enjoyed the town Center during their festival weekend Feb 2, eating at Esme's for burritos and quesadillas, the fabulous butterflies at Rosario and Sierra Chincua. Oscar Reyes was a great taxi/guide for getting around with very good English!

Mineral de Angangueo is a cool town.

Mineral de Angangueo is a cool town. The street venders have good food and it is very inexpensive. The town itself is centrally located to visit the butterfly sanctuaries. Be prepared, most of the Hotels are bare bones. The only one that we saw that was worthy of recommending was Don Brunos.

Tiny village that is a convenient base for visiting the neighbouring butterfly reserves. The white combi to El Rosario leaves from a small side street just by the school - any local will be able to show you the location. Cheap and convenient transport dropping you off right by the reserve just make sure you get the driver's mobile number for the trip back as they don't always go all the way down to the reserve unless they have passengers. But they'll pick tourists up for no extra cost if you call them. You can have lunch there while you are waiting. There are some very nice murals in Angangueo in a little street just off the square by the church. Great souvenir shop by the main square on Libertad Rayon. Hotel Jardin is a nice accommodation in the village.
