The team were lovely and made us feel very welcome. I looked forward to the breakfast each morning and was glad to have the option of the shaded pool when the sun was too strong for the beach. Loved going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves. So peaceful!

The host family was warm, welcoming and inclusive. They shared stories, mezcal, chapolines, and other traditional Oaxacan flavors. The beach, which we had to ourselves most times, had dramatic, thunderous, rolling waves. The property sits right on the beach and is set up with a variety of places to hang out and watch the ocean in comfort. Our faves were the beach hammocks and the infinity pool with built in seating. There is a super cute chapel on a little hill next door.

I am pretty sure the question is asking about Zipolite in particular. It is a great place for a beach vacation. The small commercial area is walkable from most of the hotels. The restaurants are good. The area has a hippie vibe.
The question may be about Pochutla the nearby town. It is not touristy but does have a nice, but small, Centro area with an old church and a mercado. It can easily be reached by bus or taxi from Zipolite.
