We stayed in the queen room with sea view. It's about 20 meters up a hill with a stunning view looking south and west along Zipolite beach from the patio. The window in the room looks east and catches the sunrise in the morning. There's yoga onsite and a small restaurant for breakfast or lunch. The more upscale restaurants and town are a five minute walk along the beach. The constant crash of waves, ocean breezes, birds singing, rosters crowing, and the external bathroom (with the same views) gave this stay a very natural, outdoorsy feel, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We couldn't hear the music from the nightlife. There were mosquitoes at night and in the morning. The bed has a net. The room was listed as single occupancy but it worked well for us. We only used it for sleeping. Friendly owner and guests. Responsive staff.

Third time I stayed at this hotel.
The room was amazing, the location is amazing and having a pool is quite convenient when the waves are too big in the ocean. It was actually very quiet this year, the bars around did not have loud music. That's a big bonus to sleep and wake up with the sound of the waves.

The view & location wee great.
The view & location wee great. The property was absolutely falling apart. To point that it was dangerous. We were electrocuted by the light switches. Part of the concrete balcony fell down the cliff. This place is not safe.

Very different according to what day of the week you go.
Very different according to what day of the week you go.
At weekends and holidays it gets very busy indeed with nudists and gays, who can be very overt with flaunting themselves, plus partying through the night until 4am making a lot of noise.
The rest of the time it is a beautiful place with nice sea and restaurants along the beach and very nice people

Beach is beautiful.
Beach is beautiful. Water is good for swimming, however there were some occasions when there was sewage sludge in the water. Nudist beach which was interesting. Can be too much with exhibitionism especially at either end and can be very noisy late afternoon to 4am.

Zipolite is beautiful and interesting.
Zipolite is beautiful and interesting. My husband and I like to walk and/or swim a lot on our holidays. We were disappointed that we could not swim in the ocean and walking was risky on the narrow 2-lane highway running through town, particularly since there were few sidewalks. The grocery stores were reasonably priced and Roca Blanca was a delightful little oasis of small shops, artisans and restaurants.

This is an end of the road old hippy beach town with no corporate presence. No big hotels or chain anything. Frankly it is kind of a dump and has no history, not even a fishing village claim. The beach and ocean are beautiful, but the entire coastline here is not suitable for swimming or even dunking. Very hot and humid even during my stay in early Dec 2023. Lots of massage, yoga, and alternative lifestyle things going on here. Lots of restaurants, bars and coffee places. Easy to just walk around the village. Just outside the village and up the hill are some better hotels with pools but high prices also, 200usd. If you want typical resort life you will be happier in Puerto Escondido area.

Best beach in the area. Not a lot to do .
Best beach in the area. Not a lot to do . The food at a few restaurants are way above average. Two amazing ice cream shops. And two different bank machines for cash withdraws. Smoke is easy to find and casual.
Corinna is a most excellent host. Friendly and helpful with lots of local advice. She also wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay at her hotel. She even arranged for our cab ride back to the airport. The location is really close to the beach and some excellent restaurants. The hotel has a wonderful, tropical charm to it. Our room had air conditioning which helped on warm nights, and there is a lovely little private patio with a hammock which we enjoyed.
Corinna is a wonderful host - she made me feel very welcome from the beginning! Nothing was too much trouble, she advised me on a Spanish teacher and also was incredibly understanding when I spilled bright pink nail polish on the wall!! I wish I'd booked more than one night - if you're seeking a familiar, friendly environment with lots of your own space too this is the place. Also seconds from playa zipolite 🙂
This hotel felt like a pretty normal run of the mill hotel. But had friendly staff, was kept clean, had a small pool area, had some tables and chairs and hammocks outside each door. But what I loved the most was the location! It's right on the beach on one end and right in the middle of town on the other end. Doesn't get much better than this. The rooms were comfortable and the AC worked well! I'd stay again!
Adorable Place. The situation at the beach is perfect. The staff is super kind and supportive. You pay for the splendid luxury of being at the only nudist beach of Mexico. The Alquimista occupies the best spot of Zipolite beach: Hotel area is isolated from the main beach by some "extra" rocks - making it an even more private and safe spot.
For the 1st 2 days we had a third floor room with the balcony overlooking spectacular Zipolite beach & sunset!! The location on the beach is excellent. The people running Cafe Maya were lovely and helpful and the Cafe was good. The mosquito nets were charming and proved to be necessary.
great place to stay in Zipolite - really nice to have your own space with a kitchen so you can feel quite self sufficient. a short walk (5 min?) from the town but that’s quite nice as it is a bit of a haven away from the busy main street - very close to the beach
Perfect location! Cannot get a better location in Zipolite than Ballelita. The price was also very cheap and great value for money. Alex (the owner) and the guys are very friendly and make you feel welcome. We also loved our room over looking the beach.
Basic hotel with rooms/bathrooms that need updating, but great for a short stay in Zipolite. Location is perfect, right on the beach and in the centre of town and the pool is super nice for cooling off. Air con appreciated too. Would recommend!
Clean modern 5 star feel at this adults only retreat, breathtaking panoramic view of the pacific, respectful and friendly vibration in the pool and common areas, comfortable reliable room. Stairs to Zipolite beach a great workout!!
a lovely hotel in a hidden spot that's much quieter than anything on the beach, but it's still super close to the beach. calm vibe, no parties, cute pool and comfy rooms and beds. also hot shower which seems isn't obvious in zipo.
Great location next to the beach. Unique and interesting atmosphere, like a real castaway escape. Nice breezes from the sea. Great view of the whole Zipolite beach from the top terrace. Interesting and charming hotel owner.
Villa Escondida, for me, was everything that I needed as a place to stay in Playa Zipolite. The room, the staff, the location, the view...everything about the place was to my liking.
Great location, next to Zipolite beach, with incredible views over the bay and beautiful facilities. The owner was super friendly. They have their own breakfast bar & yoga room.
The hotel is nestled at the far end of Zipolite beach. The property is absolutely amazing, everything conjures to let you spend the most pleasant and relaxing holiday.
It's comfortable no frills hotel 1 block from the beach. Unbelievably convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was very clean and everything worked.
Rooms are nice, hotel is by the beach. The garden makes it a great place to take a break and relax. It’s close to everything else and all in all it was a good stay.
The design of the hotel is really pretty and it is located right on the beach. There is a small pool for the hotel guests and the staff is extremely nice.
