Hotel Casa Encantada, hotel in Zirahuén

Hotel Casa Encantada in Pátzcuaro has 5-star accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a bar. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge.

Location, the daily breakfast is exceptional--lots of food, delicious choices and endless coffee. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the owner is a delight to talk to, with boundless information about Patzcuaro and Mexico. They offer a transportation service to various towns in Michoacan and to San Miguel de Allende--I have used this several times and appreciate the door to door service.

Beautiful lake but nothing to do there.

Beautiful lake but nothing to do there. We went at the end of May and everything was closed. Super rural town. Nowhere to eat. Nobody could tell us when their busy season is supposed to start (my husband speaks Spanish which did not help). Locals literally did not know when is the best time to visit there to have everything open and available so maybe it's on the decline? No kayak rental; no horseback riding. Lake is not for swimming and doesn't have a beach. 2 small stores were open but had only chips, snacks and pop.

    The recreation/activities park was excellent.

The recreation/activities park was excellent. It is a bit difficult to find it as there are no signs to guide you there. Ones you are able to find it, it's just pure fun! Tirolesa /Ziplining Paint balling Kayaks Quad biking Etc. It is a very small town with ancient traditions
