Location five minutes walk from train station, and right on the Leiden main square. Easy train access to Amsterdam and other cities. Happy to have minibar but it was set so cold it froze our strawberries. We had four windows, overlooking the square and side street. Unfortunately, they were either covered with sticky "frost" paper or ugly heavy curtains that couldn't easily be opened.
At 30 minutes by car from Schiphol, Het Oosten Hotel offers a link to cities like Rotterdam and Den Haag. The hotel has both a Chinese and Japanese restaurant and free Wi-Fi.

Beautiful small hotel perfectly appointed. The warmest of welcomes and help with finding local services. Wonderful canal side location with easy access by bus to the train/bus station. The room set-up was lovely. 3 windows with shutters overlooking the canal. Comfortable seating. Facilities to make food and drinks. Convenient location. Able to lock up bicycles in view of the room.

Beautiful building, great location. The room (5) was up in the attic area, with spacious living room area with coffee machine, kettle, small fridge, sofa, tv etc. The shower room was beautifully decorated with a great rain shower. The double bed was in an alcove, perfect for one, but access only from one side. It was so comfortable, great linen. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order.
Karin was a very helpful & friendly host. The breakfast delivered, exactly on time, by Jerome & Karin was as delicious as all the previous reviews said.
I went for a quiet & peaceful break, away from the city, with my small dog, who had never seen such big open spaces in his life! This is exactly what we got. See below photos of one very happy dog (The only very small problem was that the door to the guest house, is very near a main, quite busy road, so, my dog could not run straight out into the fields )
I will be going back to visit Karin & Jerome again!!!
