Really central which is the plus point for the Mayflower. On paper it seemed expensive for a 2-star hotel but having now been to Leiden I realise that everything is a little expensive there - at least compared to UK. Fairly basic accommodation, but functional. Clean linen and bathroom clean though not the prettiest I've seen. Bed comfortable and curtains effective. Lots of fast-food places, eateries and restaurants nearby including a McD's two doors down. Durk supermarket 6/7 mins walk away with great instore bakery for 40c croissants (ignore the bakery right in front of the entrance).

The hotel and room were beautiful. Very stylish and everyone was very helpful. It was a fabulous location just by the canal and a short walk from the old town.

Beautiful building, great location. The room (5) was up in the attic area, with spacious living room area with coffee machine, kettle, small fridge, sofa, tv etc. The shower room was beautifully decorated with a great rain shower. The double bed was in an alcove, perfect for one, but access only from one side. It was so comfortable, great linen. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order.

Hotel Orion is located on the picturesque island of Kaag, which can be reached within 4 minutes by ferry. The ferry departs every 5 minutes, day and night.
