Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only...
Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Plenty museums to visit and the oldest university in the Netherlands, Botanical gardens and Rembrandt's home and studio. Canal cruises and cycle hire to explore the outer part of the city. Plenty places to eat. We tended to eat at the restaurant near the hotel. Ideal location to visit both Delft and the Hague from. Would hope to return again. I travelled with 18 members of my family and stayed in the Rembrandt Hotel. Everyone thought Leiden was an excellent location to visit Keukenhof, Delft and the Hague from.

Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands...
Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands. Much more pleasant than staying in Amsterdam and only a short 20 minute train ride directly to Schiphol Airport. Could not be more convenient and relaxing.

Leiden is a great place to stay.
Leiden is a great place to stay. It’s like staying in a mini Amsterdam without as many people. Lovely canals to walk around and lots of small individual places to eat. Very peaceful to stroll around with a lovely market held on Saturday and Wednesdays. We took one of the walking tours around the town which you can buy at the local tourist information office. Also enjoyed going up the Windmill, but be prepared for a steep climb down. Well worth a visit!

Lovely city to walk in.
Lovely city to walk in.
All the people we met and staff in bars and hotel were helpful and friendly.
Sadly only had time for one visit - to Hortus Botanicus- which was well worth the time.
Would plan to visit again.

Leiden and its surrounding offers you a lot if you like...
Leiden and its surrounding offers you a lot if you like walking in beautiful old cities alongside canals. A windmill that is seemingly so simple can explain Dutch social history but there are many other interesting museums as well, and a very special botanical garden. Public transport is well organised (except on special days) and you can reach gems outside the city like Spinoza house or lakeside restaurant. The sea is not far away either.
The location is absolutely superb! Train and bus station literally across the road makes the hotel easily accessible. Situated around several amenities. Beautiful stroll into and around town from very central location!
All staff were wonderful, particularly Egla and Sharon. Both provided brilliant service throughout our stay. Special thanks to Egla, who was wonderfully welcoming when checking us in. She was professional, friendly and a very warm welcome to our stay in Leiden. Thank you!
The 20 minute walk from Leiden Central to the hotel is on cobble stone streets that line a canal. People that have large luggage cases might have a hard time navigating here. The hotel is conveniently located next to a popular bar/restaurant, a historic church and a beautifully landscaped botanical garden. My room had a lot of natural lighting and plenty of space to put my things. The owner will work with you if you arrive early and need to store your luggage for a few hours.
Room was marvelous: large, lots of storage space, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and amenities. The hotel is perfectly located to visit the historical center of Leiden. Although largely self-service, we were able through emails and in person communication to deal with any issues prior to arrival and during our stay. The hotel is highly rated on Booking. It deserves its high ratings and more. Could not have been happier with our choice.
The hotel is not only very well equipped, it’s also lovely designed. It’s perfectly located for everyone who would like to explore the Netherlands by bike.
I would like to further highlight that the staff of the hotel is very polite, forthcoming and helpful.
We had a wonderful stay at the Breathe Leiden and would definitely recommend this accommodation. There is absolutely nothing to complain about.
The staff at this hotel is very nice and helpful also after checkout. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building on one of the most famous streets in Leiden. Breakfast is very good and the room we had was comfortable and had a nice view on the crossing of Noordeinde and Breestraat.
It was a pleasure to experience Leiden again after many years in De Doelen. Thank you very much!

The hotel is gorgeous. We picked because it was a boutique hotel and a lovely treat. The staff are very welcoming and wanted us to,have a good experience. The room was lovely - very comfortable and spacious and lovely finishing touches. Breakfast was very tasty, too. The location is great for exploring Leiden and a 15-20 minute walk from the railway station.
I booked 2 rooms, we stayed there 4 nights. Room was small but cozy. Rooms with AC but no fridge. Price is good. Breakfast it's optional. Near the hotel u can find some supermarket. Location is good opposite Leiden Central train station. Walking distance to the city center is 5 min. Staff was very friendly. Recommend ✌
We had a really lovely stay at the Tulip Inn for our anniversary. The room was extremely clean and beautiful, and the staff were really lovely. The location is amazing - just a 2-minute walk from the train station, and a 5-minute walk from the centre of Leiden.
Great location and good value for money. Not the luxorious type of hotel but perfect location and decent accomodation with plenty of restaurants and sightseeing locations within walking distance. Just 6 minutes walking from Leiden Central Station!
Just 3 minutes walk from Leiden station, which is just 17-18 minutes from Schiphol. From flight landing until we entered our rooms was under one hour. Hotel is very functional, but ideal for two or three nights.
The hotel was in an ideal location for visiting Leiden. We were very impressed with Leiden itself and happy with the hotel which is near the railway station and just a shorth walk from the town centre.
Boutique hotel with good amenities in room. Very comfortable bed and pillow.
Carpark was shared with Golden Tulip - it is linked to the back of the hotel.
I enjoy the view of the train station.
A very charming room, very centrally located, with lots of good restaurants just around the corner. We loved the place and would happily choose this hotel when we come back to Leiden.
The hotel is positioned perfectly. Everything in walking distance and a parking house on the other side of the channel.
We like not too soft beds and got exactly the right ones.
Nice hotel right in central Leiden, with a channel road in front. Very nice view from the rooms to the road and channel, quite enjoyable place. Good breakfast and nice people.
Nice location next to the central station, only a very short walk to the city center of Leiden. Nice rooms with a lot of light. Rather stylish. The staff was kind.
