Hotel location is nice. Ten minutes walk to the beach. The hotel is nicely furbished and very clean. The small room was actually very very small. There was room just for a small double bed. The bed was not very comfortable either. The bathroom although very small served its puropose.

Wassenaar is clearly an affluent area of NL.
Wassenaar is clearly an affluent area of NL. My Dad likened it to the Mayfair of Den Haag. Huge, beautiful houses and clean/quiet streets. Local shops are efficient and easy to find and the beach is great during the warmer months. Our highlight, and main reason for our first visit (of many) over 10 years ago, was Duinrell. Wassenaar is a very prosperous town with many individual shops and an excellent supermarket.It also has some very nice cafes and excellent ice cream with wonderful flower shops and sweet statues.It is very safe and friendly.You are also very near to a wonderful seaside

The outdoor terrace was perfect for an early evening beer. Reception staff were fabulous - they were kind and came across as being proud of the hotel. We had a free upgrade to a suite so had a separate living/dining space in addition to a huge bedroom and fantstic bathroom - can't remember a hotel with such good water pressure and instant hot water! The castle is surrounded by a nice green park with free parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we had a small issue with the breakfast but this was handled very professionally and to our satisfaction.
