Very nice hotel. Clean and rooms are spacious. There is nice breakfast and very nice wellness that all the family enjoyed. Plenty of places to go shopping around the hotel and short distance from Zaanse Schans and Amsterdam. You have the choice of late check out with a small fee which helped to use the wellness without rushing. Great service and smiley staff.
Bastion Hotel Zaandam is located close to the A8, a 20-minute drive from the centre of Amsterdam and 4 km from Zaanse Schans with its beautiful windmills.

worst hotel, the staff (especially the hotel manager Valentino) were very rude and not helpful at all, I had children under 1 year old and they charged for the children but the rooms were the same as everyone else's. No cot. The staff was Islamophobic. You did not receive any information that you would book breakfast upon check-in. After that the breakfast was limited and when something ran out they didn't refill.
Hotel Heemskerk is a quiet and attractive hotel between the village of Heemskerk and the dunes. Here you can enjoy a relaxing and quite stay. The hotel rooms are comfortable and modernly furnished.

Walking proximity to Chateau Marquette - ideal if staying there for an event. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Staff is also nice and were able to check in earlier.

The property is amazing. It’s spacious and all staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. It’s got a lovely lounge where you can have cakes coffees / drinks (cakes are 10/10).
The rooms are very nice too.
The restaurant is lovely, but in my opinion the variety of food isn’t that great.
The spa is also very nice, however it seems that the jacuzzi was not working when we went. So we didn’t get to go in the jacuzzi. But the pool and saunas are very nice.
De Rijper Eilanden offers large accommodation with cable TV, free Wi-Fi and private balconies. It is surrounded by various routes for cycling and hiking and it has an on-site restaurant.

Lovely place in a lovely area. The food was excellent and the staff was lovely. They went above and beyond to fix a dinner for us, when the restaurant was closed.
Excellent location. Stayed here instead of Amsterdam city because it was much cheaper and I am so glad I did! It was only 15 minutes on the train (train ticket cost around €4 and the trains were very frequent all day).
First thing I noticed when walking from the train was the smell of chocolate/cocoa in the air. The town felt safe and was quiet but then it got busy with tourists during the day. You just cross over the bridge where you can see around 5 or 6 windmills. Theres traditional Dutch houses, windmills, mini museums, Dutch cheese shop with lots of free samples, clogs museum/shop, you can hear the birds singing as you walk around it’s so lovely, I also got hot chocolate with the local cocoa and you could buy Zaanse Chocolate too which would be a great gift.
I stayed for 2 nights but only had 1 day to explore Zaandijk because I had other things planned in Amsterdam (tour to De Tulipje tulip farm and Keukenhof which I would also highly recommend for April). I spent around 3 hours walking around Zaanse Schans which would also make it a great free day trip if you are visiting Amsterdam

Cute Little windmill village.
Cute Little windmill village. Wonderful insight into Dutch life back in the old days. Quaint little shops to purchase memories, A wonderful cheese factory, Many antique shops, a wooden shoemaker, highlight the area. It is a favorite stop for sight seer's. Weekends are busy as tour buses are the norm.

Houses en-route from railway station to hotel with floral tiles set into narrow brick pavement - much more comfortable walking than cobblestones. Very limited shopping compensated by a superb SPAR corner shop with wide range of take away foods and gifts. Superb Zaanse Schans Windmills and rural industries open air park. Allow minimum four hours to visit half a dozen windmills which have very different functions.
Wonderful Restaurant/Bar in old butchers shop. Lifting bridge over River Zaan - the Chocolate river - opens just in time for commercial shipping to pass to and from Amsterdam.

Lovely place to stay away from the chaos of Amsterdam. 5 mins walk to train station and 15 mins on the train into central. Good walks around. Perfect cozy bar/restaurant just over the road which is very reasonable. Spar 2 mins away which seems everything and bakery behind it.
Nice and clean room. Good location, right next to Zaanse Schans (just need to cross the river). Beautiful neighbourhood (other than the main attraction, Zaanse Schans). The location is very touristic in the morning, but becomes really quiet and peaceful in the evening, once the attractions are closed.
Food options nearby. The hotel also has an in-house restaurant. Decent breakfast.
Fantastic and spacious modern apartment set a short walk from the hotel. Large room with two comfortable large double beds. Large bathroom. Beautiful view on the deck of the hotel facing the river and the historic windmills. Friendly staff. A short walk to the train station and numerous cafes. Straight across the river from the De Zaanse Schans historical traditions park.
Nice young people in the reception. Breakfast was very good, the restaurant service in the restaurant (nice toung people) during dinner and breakfast. Surroundings, nice to walk and look at the beautiful arvhitecture and gardens, also nice cafes around there, our favourite one was just some steps away from the
Boutique Hotel main building. Don’t miss them!
The room was excellent. Overlooking the canal. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. A small problem on arrival was soon rectified by the team on duty. I would be pleased to recommend this hotel to my friends, With good links to the city the location is ideal.
Didn’t realize it was at annex until we get to the reception area as I didn’t see any options of ‘main’. It was a simple apartment that doesn’t even deserve the word ‘hotel’. Apart from all this, the staff are nice and breakfast is good.
The location is amazing. We had a really nice view from our room. The staff is super friendly and helped us answer all the questions. There is a beautiful terrace outside where you can eat or have some drinks. Really lovely hotel!
Enjoyed the area where the hotel was located. Parking was easy. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel was close to Zaanse Schaan.
View of the river was gorgeous-we had breakfast next to the window.
Closest hotel to Zaanse Schans, nice view from the balcony to the windmills and the bridge. Free parking within 50meter (next to the supermarket that opposite side of the hotel)
