As we arrived in 1st January and everything was closed, we found frozen pizza in the gas station. The owner allowed us to go to the other aparment and use oven, because we did not have it.
In our aparment we liked bathroom and bed.

Nice decent room, bit older but everything worked perfectly, kitchen fully equipped. For us excellent location, free parking. Personal was nice. for us definitely worth it!
Overlooking the lake of Eidfjordvatnet, this traditional timber-clad property is just 12 km from the spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall.

Style style style. It's a house from the mid 19th century. Well-preserved, and with extravagant decoration. We weren't the only ones taking pictures of the halls and rooms.

Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is access to many activities and visits that I would recommend such as Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger and a lot of sensational excursions. Apart from that you have Hardangerfjord, the Ulvik/Voss area, Hardangervidda just a few kilometers away by car.
And the town is small, quiet and charming.

Eidfjors is an idyllic place with many things to do or enjoy. As main attractions you have the waterfall of Vøringsfossen, the norwegian nature center museum and the farms and views of Kjeåsen. Apart from that, other spectacular waterfalls and fantastic hikes. It is also a good place to relax and do nothing.

There is some great hiking in the area.
There is some great hiking in the area. We took the trail to the foot of Voringsfossen waterfall, which gave a different perspective from the viewpoints along the road. The hike to Kjeasen mountain farm is a lot of fun, with a few scrambles on the way up. This is quite steep and slippy in places so best done on a dry day. The views from the top are stunning.
We also did a day trip to Bergen from Eidfjord, if you have a car it is doable to go there and back in a day.
Eidfjord itself is very small and easy to get around. We mainly ate in our hotel (Eidfjord Fjell and Fjord Hotel) which was very nice to go for dinner.
Location is lovely unless there is a huge cruise ship in the harbour just opposite the hotel building that totally blocks the view. It was like that when we arrived but fortunately it was gone in the evening. I suppose that it happens quite often as it is a popular spot for the cruises. From the breakfast room you get a nice view of the fjord. We enjoyed that.
Very practical location. Bus to and from is right outside and the prices are VERY low. It is only kr. 40 from Geilo to Eidfjord! The WALKING to get around is excellent now in both directions, and nature is unique and close for hiking. This area has a great future for tourism - if only the trucking activity was moved onto ships instead.
Friendly, helpful staff – felt more like a family than a hotel. Nice breakfast with freshly cooked omelettes. Comfortable, spacious, modern hotel room. Only 9 rooms on the property; all on the ground floor. Comfortable lounge area with free tea. The owners run an adventure travel company (kayaking, biking, etc.) as well.
Amazing view of the Eidfjord from our room and the dining room. Easy 5 minute walk to the fjord, restaurants, and shops. The restaurant is wonderful and the breakfast great. They even packed us a “take away” breakfast for the one morning that we planned to leave the hotel early! Super friendly and helpful staff!
Very nice located small pension directly in the small city of Eidfjord.
The dinner (Köttbullar) we could get at the Vik Pension was excellent and one of the best dinner we had during our holidays in Norway.
The breakfast was good, room was comfortable and nice!
Classic, historic hotel. Great location next to one of the largest and most impressive waterfalls in Norway - staying at the falls allowed us to catch them in good light despite it being a stormy day. Proprietor was pleasant and helpful. Good restaurant.
My family and I loved EVERYTHING about this property. The most amazing staff, fantastic rooms and excellent food in a very convenient location. This is the hotel to stay at if you are traveling to Eidfjord.
Great location, very close to the Hardangerfjord and the Voringfossen waterfall. The facilities were very clean and the room was very cozy, and the staff was attentive too. Nice breakfast to start the day.
Probably our best hotel during our 10 days tour of Norway.
Nice staff.
Wonderfull view from the lounge and from the restaurant.
We enjoyed there excellent grilles salmon, locan cider and cheesecake.
Location was really nice. The hotel is really old and has an amazing vibe. There is a super beautiful waterfall right outside. Overall nice place :) The staff was very welcoming and friendly
