Te Aroha Motel, hotel in Te Aroha

Set in Te Aroha, 50 km from University of Waikato, Te Aroha Motel offers accommodation with a garden and free private parking.

The Motel is centrally located; convenient to have a Woolworths straight across the road. My room was spotless, extremely clean and spacious with all the amenities needed for a short or long stay (heat pump; ceiling fan; wardrobe; drawers; ironing board and iron; cutlery etc). Your bathroom towels are changed daily! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the heavy drapes in the room when closed made the Unit dark and cosy. Though situated on a main road, the sheer curtains provided privacy for when the drapes were open. Rob & Glenys were wonderful hosts; very hard working, super friendly and accommodating.

Boasting a bar, Talisman Hotel & Restaurant is situated in Katikati in the Bay of Plenty region, 45 km from ASB Baypark Stadium and 45 km from ASB Baypark Arena.

The room was very bright and looked quite new. The bathroom was very spacious. Katikati turned out to be a quite cute place with many, many outside walls of buildings having interesting paintings.

Quiet town, but located near some great walks that could take 2 days to enjoy. Private spring baths are a must and also well run by the local council. The visitor information is filled with all the rele=ant material to make the stay enjoyable.

Te Aroha, translated, means Love, and that is what you will find there, especially if your fortunate to visit Sunday service in the Anglican church, and bonus, staying in the Nunne ry, accommodation, mountain trek, is challenging, but worth it, cycle trails , mostly sealed paths easy going, interesting Spa, and museum, good food, many places to eat, river walks, everything you want for a few days passing through.

Scenery, hot pools and mountain walks are the main reasons to visit Te Aroha. Very limited range of accommodation and restaurants, probably more so since covid lockdowns. Disappointing that in the middle of the holiday season most restaurants were closed in the evening.

Te Aroha is a diamond in the rough .

Te Aroha is a diamond in the rough . It posses the only Soda Hot Spring existing in the world! A wonderful experience and privilege to be soaking in water that is so special, a total Must Do! The Estuary Walk was equally amazing as well as the walks up the mountain and the walk to the Waiwiri Waterfall . The town has some excellent cafes and restaurants including the Ironic Cafe with yummy, healthy, vegan food options as well And I lived the Organic shop/cafe where you can get nearly everything under the sun considered natural and wholistic, cute place to sit and relax too.

Te Aroha is a small, pretty town.

Te Aroha is a small, pretty town. We found the locals really friendly. We are walkers so wanted to walk the mountain and weren't disappointing. The town itself has everything you could need - a spa, restaurants and cafes, supermarkets.

Finding your way around Te Aroha is really easy.

Finding your way around Te Aroha is really easy. The town is clean and well cared for. There is loads to do eg cycling (mountain bike park or cycle trails), walking (around town or up the mountain), spa (youve got to try booking a mineral spa for an hour!), gardens (they are beautiful), eateries (loads of choice... we ate dinner at The Grand but the RSA was the best choice), If youre a coffee snob like us then Villa Nine has the best ... and the best pies!), Ironique Cafe does great food, but not too far out of town if youre doing the cycle trail is the Old Forge and a little further Cafe 77.

The only reason we have to stay because this is the only Motel in Te Aroha; Monopolistic market which they can do whatever they want; $130-$140 per night for a studio room; very low class owner with very bad attitude; bully people with very rude manner and judgement; the

A novel and authentic accommodation - it is relatively spartan (appropriate for an ex-nunnery) with shared bathroom and toilet facilities. Rooms are small and everything is spotlessly clean. Location is great and it is an easy walk to the Spa and restaurants.

It is important to understand what type of accommodation the Nunnery is. it is not a motel. it is immaculate, well run, spotlessly clean, quiet etc. it would be brilliant for a group looking for a nice quiet place to stay in Te Aroha.
