This, by far, was my favourite place to stay during our two week holiday. I loved the bamboo accommodation and being so close to the river. We went on a wonderful boat ride at night. It was so dark, but the sky was lit with a million stars. Along the river bank, only the outlines of different trees and shrubs could be seen, while fireflies danced on a few of the treetops. An enchanted place♥️

The hotel is located near the Loboc river with stunning natural surroundings. The pool was good, and the staff were kind, helpful, and friendly. The breakfast selection was varied and delicious. Also, the firefly watching and stand-up paddleboarding activities were truly amazing.

I would absolutely rate Loboc as somewhere to visit!
I would absolutely rate Loboc as somewhere to visit! We had the most fantastic time staying at The Water to Forest Ecolodge and hired scooters to visit the chocolate hills and explore various waterfalls (head off early and you'll probably find you have Pangas Falls all to yourself (it cost about 20pesos to access & had a shop selling drinks and snacks on the roadside). The scenery is absolutely stunning and the locals are just the friendliest we've ever encountered. A beautiful place, I feel very privileged to have visited.

Loboc was a great place to explore the sights of bohol and the loboc river. Quite far from Panglao / alona beach so don’t recommend basing yourself here if you want to do more beach stuff/ island hopping. Would recommend one or two full days in Loboc- you can do the chocolate hills and tarsiers in the same tour. Also Paddleboarding down loboc river was really fun. Evening Firefly tour was special too! Loboc river resort was a great place to base yourself- and the food in the restaurant amazing! Avoid the animal park/butterfly farm it’s cruelty! But do go to the tarsier sanctuary in corella as they treat the tarsiers better (or so the lonely planet says!) than other places.

Loboc is a very small town so two nights at the fox and firefly was perfect for us. There’s lots to do- we did Stand up paddle boarding, firefly watching, Tarsiers, Twin hanging bridge, mountain biking, Loboc eco adventure park where we zip lined and did the cable car and lots of exploring! We ate at the Fox and Firefly breakfast, lunch and dinner- the food is amazing!!! We used our moped to travel around, without this you would need a driver.

The place have a beautiful river.
The place have a beautiful river. Stand-up puddling is definitely “must to do”: you’re just in the middle of a jungle river, it’s calm and silent, you can only hear the sound of birds, light noise of the palm leaves in case of a wind blow and water splashes, when your paddle touches it’s surface. You’re in the very heart of island’s nature beauty, it’s all just around you!

Great place to stay and chill.
Great place to stay and chill. Loboc river is very beautiful and calming to travelers especially when you try the river cruise (we got to rent a boat to ourselves). It has a lot to offer in terms of attractions, places to eat, activities to try and many more. Travelling here is totally worth it!
Great location by the river, makes you feel like you’re right in the jungle! Recommend the premier rooms- really spacious and you get access to a nicer separate pool! Comfy bed. Balcony overlooking river was nice. Blackout curtains helpful for jetlag! Activities/ tours you can organise through the hotel were fun- SUP paddle boarding was great. Firefly tour was magical! Chocolate hills tour good too. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was awesome- we had some lovely local meals.
This place is a lovely find! It has a great pool to cool off during these roasting hot days and the location is good for exploring Bohol and the Loboc river area. The biggest highlight of this place is it’s people : Pat & Joshua and all the staff in the restaurant, June & Troy and all the water sports staff. They make this place such a joy to stay. The firefly tour was amazing and so worth it! Paddle boarding was also nice alternative to the crowed tourist river boat.
The location next to the river is so beautiful and the style of the huts is lovely and traditional. The rooms are basic but the bed is very comfortable and you have everything you need. They suggested the best activities around and arranged them for us for great prices. The staff is super friendly and kind and the food they serve is cheap and delicious as well as the breakfast and smoothies!
-The most helpful staff! I had a million questions and they helped me through all of them.
-They also booked us a motorbike. Also offered to organize firefly tour via SUP or a motorboat.
- Very affordable laundry! Gave us free pool towels. toiletries provided. clean!
- It’s a family run business and I loved that.
- fun drinks to order
- on the river
- wifi is really good in the main lobby
One of the nicest place we slept in Philippines. The bungalows are just by the river, sounds of the nature (and of the loud music at day time from thoae touristic boats). We came by small boat (one pf the options to come to the hotel), and we liked the short trip via jungle river. Clean rooms, cosy restaurant and nice staff. Delicious food, good options for breakfast.
What a beautiful place! It is such a nice, quiet garden at the river bank. It was the perfect place to relax after coming from the busy El Nido. Location is perfect to see all that which the island has to offer. The staff is amazing! Super friendly and you can book different activities directly at the hotel. The food is great too!!!
Excellent stay at GB Loboc River GH in Jimilian! Kudos for the squeaky clean room, the amenities, and the overall comfort. It truly felt like the perfect place to rest after exploring Loboc. Special thanks to Ate Abeth and all the staff who were more than helpful and made our stay easy and pleasant. Daghang salamat!!
Thank you so much to ever at the Loboc River Resort. We had an incredible time and were very sad to leave. Hopefully we will return in the future.
I can’t rate the resort and the staff highly enough. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and attentive.
The setting : a charming cottage built in the jungle on Loboc river banks.
The sound of the jungle's inhabitants once the sun down.
The location to visit Bohol main attractions.
The possibility to rent scooters.
The availability of the host to provide useful information.
Amazing location, right on the river. The staff were absolutely sweet and very helpful. Very peaceful and a super nice location to stay at in Loboc. Not to mention great value for money, would definitely stay here again. Room had a fan and was very clean.
Being surrounded by nature and a beautiful river. The huts are open and in the morning you can hear the animals in the trees when you wake up. Very cool place and a must visit if you plan a trip to Bohol. The people are very helpful and friendly.
We loved the tours they booked us on, taking us on a river, firefly and trip to the chocolate hills! The staff were amazing and the food was super! 10/10 would recommend everyone to stay here
everything was perfect
- the bungalow very cute and quiet with a beautiful terrace
- host and hôtel team very kind
- the location near the river
- the restaurant very tasty
The best cooked shrimps in the Philippines ! Lovely staff. Great info on what to do on the island. Nice view on the lake and close to the river cruise entrance. Thank you
Room is clean. The small balcony overlooks a beautiful padi field. 3 mins drive to Loboc river floating restaurants. You pay 20 pesos for self-service coffee.
The view is amazing. The pool was refreshing. The location is only a 5 min drive from the main part of Loboc which is convenient if you have a scooter.
