Lovely room with very special balcony. Great views to the river. The room was designed for a romantic couple weekend. If you have time for dinner and wine on your private balcony this is perfect. We enjoyed the sunset and have wonderful photos. Breakfast was great.

Caminha, a fortified border town located at the mouth of the river Minho, where several battles were fought between Portugal and Spain, now has much more friendly relations with its neighbor , it is a nice place to stay a few days to discover the area, unfortunately the ferry that connects the two banks of the river, is out of service.

I have been taking holidays in Caminha for over 30 years so it is one of my favourite spots. The town is small and everything is in walking distance, packed with enough restaurant choices to keep you satisfied and very well fed. Around it there's plenty interesting things to see and places to visit, also more restaurants with more excellent food to enjoy. The proximity with Spain is also a bonus.

Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition.
Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition. As a pilgrim, there were not so many places to stay, but I met some lovely people there. I loved walking along the river Minho, beautiful landscape, fascinating architecture. It's a quiet town that is located on the riverbank of Rio Minho and you can cross the river by ferry to Spain.

CAMINHA is a very attractive little town especially the old centre which has a lovely bustling square !
Many decent reasonably priced restaurants.
There are lovely clean beaches & super views across the River Minho to Spain !
Ideally located for walking on the beautiful unspoilt Serra da Arga or along the coastline.
Easy to nip across to Spain on the cheap ferry.
Good train service to other interesting places.
The house is absolutely amazing, right in the centre of Caminha, 10 minutes walk from train station, which takes you to some lovely beaches & beautiful historic towns all within 30 minutes.. The house was spotlessly clean, lovely garden for a relaxing breakfast or a wine on the balcony over looking the quiet street.. if you like a walking or just getting out of porto or Lisbon, this place is for you.. I recommend the walk to the beach through the pine forest. The real portugal. Stay here you won't be disappointed.
Gustavo and Sandra took care of us very well. They have done a great job developing the property. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed the breakfast, including her home made scones. She even gave us some to take on the Camino to share with our friends. Gustavo gave us a ride to meet our friends for the boat ride to Spain. We really enjoyed our stay
A gem of a little hotel located on a lovely river. Carefully restored, it is has a wonderful garden and easy access to swim n the river. You can cross over to a little cafe. There is a nice restaurant near by but it was closed on a Sunday evening. Nice area for us to stop on our way up through Portugal and Spain.
Needed a break from the camino, and this was perfect. Amazing spa and massage for my wife. And the food and wine was amazing. As a chef myself, I will steal the caramel fondant. The waiters maybe not so professional, but sweet and helpful. And great feedback from reception 👍
Beauty and spacious. Also, there was a need to use the bathroom drying racks and the property owner made sure that the racks where turned on through the night. Furthermore, thoughtful appointments where in the kitchen as a welcome treat.
This is one of the more special places where I've ever stayed. If you ever go to that part of Portugal, you have to visit this gem. It's a true experience, perfectly maintained hotel, wonderful owners and a gorgeous setting.
The place was nice, comfortable. Simple. Great kitchen. Large, garden terrace that was beyond beautiful. Lots of space to air dry clothes. Victor (one of the staff) was super kind and helpful.
The hotel is great, very clean and with large rooms. The hosts are very warm. We were walking on Camino de Santiago and they prepared us food to take away. Nice people, really.
The rooms were spacious and modern and clean . The reception/lounge area super nice . The staff very friendly and helpful and the location right by the ferry boats .
